What size is that, looks smaller TBH? What power are you running?

The APS kit dosnt come as low down in the wing as mine looking at the hard pipe.

No need to worry I am sure. Its one of them things that I did probably for no gain but just made me feel better. I mean we have a mechanical compressor sucking air in.............not as if its a N/A engine that will more likely need help with feeding!

I swapped it over as I wanted a new filter and did feel the one on was a little small ........ even though it was running just under 450bhp without a problem

Well a little disappointed really Andrew Carr tried all he could to get more power but at the end this was all he could get 333.5hp with 320ftl. With the mods I have he said he expected to see between 340-350 but said all he could put it down to was the engine and because it's done 123k it Couldt produce more

So now I've got to a point where I've done all I can on the standard engine and its capabilities seem to be maxed out. I'm going to enjoy the car as it is get some niggly bits I'm unhappy with sorted and just drive the thing

On the flip side I'll be slowly collecting the parts I need for the 2.5 build with Alyn so this time next year the car will be at its next level

I think that's a decent result pal, Let face it you probably wouldn't notice an extra 10bhp or so on the road so don't get caught up chasing figures IMO.

Drive it and enjoy for abit bud

Yes your bang on Craig, drives superb and is very responsive as well. Very easy to get caught up with figures it is a good result and the cars healthy aswell. Always prefer the car to be safe mapped rather then pushed to the limits anyway. Will drive it and stop throwing money at it for now

Yep your right Andy. Going to enjoy it for a while now as it's quick enough for me anyway. Like I said dead easy to get caught up in figures and what it achieved today is a great result out of wrx. Yes the engine has 123k on it but is maintained meticulously and wants for nothing. So plan now to drive and enjoy whilst collecting parts for the future

Agree Iain, loads of factors that could have effected the result. Happy with the way the car goes so that's the main thing. Think the disappointment is with the right mods in place and not achieving what was expected.

Cheer Jon. Next is to enjoy the car and over the winter get it all tidy. Few jobs to do under the bonnet bought a turbo blanket, black wrap to wrap the pipes fit the oil catch tank. Also have the cold air feed to fit through the fog cover. Whilst all this I'll be purchasing parts for a 2.5 build with Alyn.

I did Roy but as the cars a daily NAND fast road car I was advised the 2.5 makes for a better road car. The aims 450/450 with bags of torque. I know the 2.1's are very capable but I think the 2.5 will suit me and my driving a lot better

I'm with Mart on this on, a lot of the good fast road cars run a 2.5 which seems good for power figures up to the low 500s

Thanks mate mrs is trying to sort the you tube link

Know the 2.1 is a tough engine although it more for track/drag where as the 2.5 has been described to me many a time as ballistic

Little update

Got the centre vent back from Ryan as the paint reacted the 1st time so he's re painted it. Still cracking slightly already but now its in its staying in

Now the maps been done the switches are active and so much easier to flick the ALS on.

Also ordered a set of bolts n washers from rallytec. Lots of parts piling up now in the house to fit just need some time off work.

Went and got a brand new tyre fitted today so the black xxr can go back on for the winter

Have to heat wrap the ic pipe work on the hot side and fit the turbo blanket and fog cold air feed.

Thinking of changing the stereo so this one will be going up for sale too
