Jack, Luton really is a little hamlet in Devon!!

I don't think I'll upgrade my 4 to iOS6, not until all the issues are ironed out. I'm sure there is more to come in the next few days!! Don't use Facebook much and turn off nearly all my notifications to save battery.

It's got my town named wrong lol.

It calls Daventry, Leamington and calls Leamington, Royal Spa.

I'll keep to iOS5 for now. At least until my apps are updated to iOS6 as a few of them are crashing.

Mate mine ( Scottish ) boarded a train for Lymington (or so he thought ) and was a good way to Leamington before he realized something was wrong.

Statement from Apple.

"Customers around the world are upgrading to iOS 6 with over 200 new features including Apple Maps, our first map service. We are excited to offer this service with innovative new features like Flyover, turn by turn navigation, and Siri integration. We launched this new map service knowing it is a major initiative and that we are just getting started with it. Maps is a cloud-based solution and the more people use it, the better it will get. We appreciate all of the customer feedback and are working hard to make the customer experience even better."

Anyone know where they get their business data from? I thought I'd read it was from Yelp, but my business doesn't appear on Yelp's site but it is on the ios6 Maps in an address we moved out of 4 years ago? I guess I need to get this changed pretty quickly in case any customers look for us on there.

Also, i've had to use the "report" function for Derby, it's just a pure pixelated mess.

Yes, the new retina display is great. The rest of the performance is not a massive leap over the old MBP but still better.

Ok cheers, Im a total newbie when it comes to macbooks and imacs, etc.

I have been using my PC since 2007 and think it's time for an upgrade, plus I get the feeling my PC is on its last legs.

May sound silly, but is the new macbook pro perfectably capable of running photoshop smoothly while doing various other tasks and being on itunes etc?

The MacBook Pro is a serious bit of kit - most multimedia professionals use MacBooks rather than PCs... Photoshop on a Mac runs much better in my experience - well, in fact I find everything runs better on a Mac and this is coming from an ex-MCSD so I certainly didn't start out as a Mac fan-boy.

I have a top spec previous generation MBP for work for which I run VMs, PhotoShop, Node servers and various other apps that soak up RAM and CPU power, all without skipping a beat.

Even my 2008 spec 4Gb 2.4 Ghz Core 2 duo MacBook is still perfectly capable of memory and processor intensive tasks such Illustrator, Photoshop, video editing, Virtual machines, etc and I still use it for those tasks (I have put off buying a newer one countless times because even after 5 years, it's still up to the task). Whereas, all my PC laptops from around the same era are all fit for the scrap heap.

IMHO, the main reason the Windows fan-boys slate Macs is because they don't want to admit they're wrong

Good luck to him, but the phone providers seem to have plenty of stock so he may find he's wasted a morning - I phoned my provider on Tuesday and my iPhone 5 arrives on Monday (would have been today but I'm not around to sign for it).

US buyers will lap them up, unlocked is not an option there for a while. I have no doubt that I could drive to Milton Keynes and pick up a 5 this morning without queuing, must resist.

My years of experience working and supporting developers is that they like to think they know everything, when the reality is that they know very little outside of what they do.

FYI I also used to be an MCSE so I have a fair degree of knowledge on both sides of the coin, thanks.

These days, I want something that allows me to get the job done with as little obstruction as possible and that's the main reason I use a Mac. For a few things I do, I still need Windows but it's a monumental pain in the backside compared to using the Mac.

I can't believe some people are still getting touchy if somebody suggests that they piece of tech isn't as good as they think.

Isn't that how all online maps work. Or did the aliens give points of interest to Google?
