losing my son please help
Without wanting to put a downer on this, someone took the opportunity yesterday to kindly steal the badges from the back of my RX7 while it was parked out of the way. I know this as the car only came out of a locked garage for the meet, and went straight back in. They've also broken a few of the others while trying to get them off.
I'm also realistic enough to realise I probably won't ever find out who did this, so just wanted to thank you for the scratches on the back of my car. Brilliant.

This is akin to stealing flowers from a grave. There's some lowlifes around. I left all my bits on the car seat (sat nav plus a couple of bits) thinking nobody would stoop to stealing at an event like this. Seems I was wrong.

I deleted my last post because I think I got the wrong end of the stick
( I do that often on here if you know me )
Im guessing the thanks for the scratches was aimed at the ***** that nicked the badges , ( not us )
It's just we have been having a few comments about the parking situation
Tony
Sorry to hear about your car

You lads did a sterling job.
Sorry to hear of people having a few bits pinched but unfortunatly we cant stop the low lifes of huddersfield turning up and doing things like this i hope it comes back to haunt them.
I personnally made sure id hid everything and this was first time i hadnt left car unlocked at a show due to anybody been able to show up and i did see a few rough looking people around.
We apologise again as im sure all of other marshalls would aswel.

superb car yours, wondered with my girlfriend how much care and time you invest in keeping them in such a good shape. Will bring the pressure washer next year with me

Was stunned to see how many people knew the Avantime.
Didn't see any V6 Clio.
Cheers mate!

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good job it was for charity thats all im saying, cos i bought alot of tickets.. and would defo be demanding my money back.
It's minor damage really and I'm sure I'll be able to get hold of some new badges. Just shows how stupid the culprits are really. If they'd used their screwdriver to open the boot instead, there was £15ks worth of camera equipment sat in there.
I can't stress enough that this wasn't the fault of the organisers. I was parked around the back where there was generally a lot of people circulating all day. My guess is someone took an opportunity when it was quiet later in the day as my back-end was parked towards the trailers.
I was in two-minds whether to even alert people to this, I just hoped somebody might have seen someone do it.

Send us details of the car as there were cameras on top of those building towards where the cars were parked, ile contact Fred lawtons myself, that's bloody disgusting, I really hope it's no one from here.
Would like to say how much of a brilliant day it was and kudos to all involved.. such an amazing atmosphere from everybody there.. i have yet to add my photos to anywhere as im waiting for them to be uploaded onto a pc from the camera..
There was such beautiful machinery there and all for a great cause, this day will stay with me in memories for a long long time, I certainly had an awesome time and was worth making the effort to come along.
I think we all have to give ourselves a pat on the back for making this day to Connor so special, if this event was to become an annual one i will be sure to be there any means necessary.
Was a treat to see the aventime show up as i have never seen one in the flesh before the event, and i give great respect to the owners to making the trip on this short notice, we were in the little red mazda 323f that was hidden away in the corner in front of your car
Finally a big thanks to the family of Connor and the car community for this very special day and making it happen, i was honored and privileged to be apart of it even in a small way of being there.

If this is an annual event Id be up for it no problem and so would others from VVOC Im certain thet would be.
BUT to stop any lowlifes taking bits from cars, it would be better on the airfield as has been previously suggested...
I saw earlier a T-Shirt for the event, where would I get 1 from please...?

Next year aaaahhhh! Lol
Nah if it will be annual then if an airfield etc is sourced then there would be no stress involved I belive as the event will have their own marshalls and accessories in place I would of thought, so no stress trying to control numbers etc, then it could go absolutely viral and and no limit to numbers.
I think that black n white photo of Connor could be the main masterpiece for the event logo as its an epic picture thanks to ( rougue I think).
Also them bloody thiefs what a flipping let down, its a disgrace is that, and your right maz it's like stealing flowers from somebody's grave.
What goes around comes around

To the very few tit-whingers who were "put out" because of a minor issue - wind your neck in and put on the "big picture glasses" - It wasn't really about your car, it was just about being there as a person and a human being because you cared about that little 11 year old hero.

Very well put
as you say this wasn't a meet a Car meet for "Us" this was for Connor Tony

Hi all, just registered to say a massive thankyou to everyone involved with yesterday, it was an inspirational & heartwarming day, I was honoured to be there.
The marshalling was brilliant, my mrs didn't believe the whole event was organised in around 10 days, some of the cars were spectacular (I spent most of the day going round all the car parks and there were some hidden gems, including a rear-engined clio).
Zippy, you sir are an inspiration, I couldn't imagine being in your position, but you can be proud, very proud, as can all involved. Conner looked to have a great day, always smiling!
Well thank you ScoobyNet and everyone who came yesterday, had a chat to many petrolheads (the vxr8 being one of my favourites, even had a quick chat with the owner who was also a marshall), we had a superb day and definatly will attend if Connors Day 2013 gets the go-ahead!
I'll put my pictures in an album on photobucket and give you the link, you are welcome to use any of them! I didn't get any of Connor as the crouds around him were solid, but when I saw the black and while picture from rogue as I grown man I am not ashamed to admit it nearly broke me.
Thank you all, very humbled today.
