Still undecided about selling up.After all the upgrades that have been done it would be a shame not to see it through to the end.

You even sound like Ryan - will I break it or won't I

Get it finished, enjoy it at least once, and move on from there. I missed a whole summer with my respray and I lose months at a time with my tinkering, but there's no way I'll ever recoup my money or time so I'm just going to enjoy it

Builds take a while mate and problems always come up, you can't expect to rush it if you want it done right :-)

It does get frustrating at times mate, just when you make plans and think you're gonna get your car back some little thing pops up that puts the project back!!

Chin up fella

Now that i have decided to see this through i have spoken to Mark at TDR and Paul Finch at Finch motorsport to discuss options and prices.
I am also contemplating having the 6 speed gearbox overhauled before it is fitted. I think API would favourite for gearbox job.
My budget is very tight at the moment,my job is looking very iffy .So i might have to do this in stages.I had to knock my original engine plans on the head. Apologies to anyone who i may have pi55ed off with this decision but i had to be sensible the way things are looking at work.
Anyway i will keep plodding on with my project.

Bit of a scare on the M50 last night the car hesitated on acceleration then a couple of miles later the CEL came on and the engine was missing badly.Had a look this morning a coilpack had come off.Took the airbox off to get at the coilpack and noticed the one next to it was loose aswell, very strange.Anyway both are tight again now.

I've had that when a coil pack connector came loose on mine after a service and it ran like a pig - the simple things are set to try us

Well worth it, both from a strength and drivability point of view

Dropping the car off with Ryan next week to get 6 speed fitted + mot.
Then i will be cleaning and polishing for Japfest.
I must have had a funny turn the other week when i was considering selling,i was looking around the car earlier admiring Ryan's workmanship, the paintwork still looks amazing and decided i will see this project through to completion.

I know that feeling mate, I'm toying with sending the car back to Ryan to do some plating and smoothing under the bonnet after I fit the VF34 plus extras and get it all mapped, the comes the boot - will it never end

The thing that keeps me going is knowing I won't recoup the money or time I have put into the car so I may as well keep on enjoying it

Luckily i never kept a record of what i have spent.
One of the best things i had done was getting Ryan [or was it Keith] to spray the underside of the bonnet and the front panel in 02C Blue

I'm thinking engine out, powder coating sub-frames and painting drive shafts etc

I've got a bag of receipts but I never add it up

Spoke to Ryan earlier the gearbox is in but he had a slight problem with the rear hubs.
He had to fit a couple of helicoils to refit the rear brake calipers. The first test drive with the 6 speed is any day now, fingers are firmly crossed

MOT passed today.
Ryan tried the 6 speed box and said everything seems ok.
I pick it up tomorrow,a bit of spit and polish then it will be ready for Japfest.

picked the car up yesterday, two miles from home the clutch went.
I was not happy the clutch has only done 5,500 miles give or take a couple.
The problem is it was fitted sept 2012
So i got up early and took it back to Ryan. Whilst its there he is going to fit two bearings
to the recent R180 hubs i bought they are too noisy for my liking
When he fitted the 6 speed he also fitted the gearchange bush kit from ASP,it made the gearchange really tight an excellant upgrade.
No Japfest for me.
