The price was second hand as was on eBay winning bidder paid £180-190 if I remember right for a carbon set. New would have no idea of price. Was gutted as was a good price just did not have funds as the same person was selling the carbon front bumper and was already committed to that. Got the bumper in the end but regretted not having the money to get both...

Is your bumper a carbon finish on the outside or a gel coat and sprayed ?
Out of interest what did you pay for the bumper ?

It has to be Gel coat for me, much better looking.
I'm pm'ing you an idea I have.
Also carbon is about the weight saving. I think it would help if say you stripped a boot, weighed it then weighed the carbon one afterwards to give an idea of the weight saving.

I thought originally it was all carbon but a garage said it was just covered. It is gel coat so you can see the carbon weave but it looks like it is under some kind or varnish finish is that gel coat ? Can send pics if it helps? The front bumper was £200 odd can't remember exact price and again it was secondhand with quite a few scratches plus one of the fixing loops was missing so had to get a garage to attach a alloy loop for me.

I'd be interested in wings & RCM style reverse scoop. I'd be painting them so is gel coat best? Let me know a price when youv costed everything up. It's for a classic 96 STI.

Hi mate,

Hope you manage to go through with this successfully!

Just a couple more ideas which could be interested in..

Splitters like STI V-Limited and P1 style:-

http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.u...poilers_3.html

Rear Diffusers:-

http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.u...poilers_4.html

Fog Lamp Covers:-

http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.u..._covers_7.html

I've had parts from these guys before and would say they are the best copy parts for looks and perfect fit IMO, so a good place to start. Also very well priced so a good guide for yourself, obviously carbon would be a bit more but some good ideas on there for ya.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Michael.

Hi mate,

This thread makes me a little excited tbh I love the idea of carbon side skirts for a classic, along with carbon spats!!!

Carbon interior parts ie, stereo surrounds, ashtray, cup holders, centre console are a MUST as the classic interiors are **** lol.

The price will need to be better than the market really as there are many companies that make these parts, but the prices are simply a **** take.

I have lots of parts ill order from you mate once of course i see a few examples, and some feedback from fellow netters.

Great plan buddy, could make decent coin if you see it through!

PM me when you get the ball rolling.

Cheers

Thanks mate and price is really an issue as I want to do it as cheap as possible for all you as well as make a bit of cash for my self !
And hopefully it should all turn out looking good and I'm looking into interiors at the minute but what I think I'm gonna do is start with the side skirts , wings , scoops and bumpers / splitters as these are quick and simple to make a mould and turn out , plus a lot of people seem interested in these so will be a quick way to get some money back in to buy different parts to make a mould !

I'v already got a p1 style splitter on my car which I may sacrifice in the future to replace with a carbon copy once done

The wings as standard are pretty light so any weight saving would be minimal but a
22b wide style wing would be a winner.

In my opinion there are two groups here. 1. Want the carbon look and weight saving is a bonus. 2. Weight saving is critical and carbon look not important.
Perhaps a poll to see what camp people sit in may well help you decide what you do.

Good luck with the venture if you get the price right you will be onto a winner there is a huge gap in the market in this area since wolfie stopped doing the fibreglass parts.

Do you have access to the gelcoat/resin that will withstand higher temperature. Ive got a mould already for a reverse scoop but the last one collapsed in the low-bake..?

No offence intended but this thread reminds of a similar one a while ago on mig web, someone started a thread promising all sorts of carbon bits and pieces, supplied a few people with odd bits and then disappeared with a lot of people's money, I hope this thread is genuine because I would love some carbon bits for my classic

Hi I could quite easily be a scammer there's enough of them out there , but like I said il only accept payment when they are ready through PayPal as there is a record of everyone's money and would more than prefer cash on collection so people are happy with there part/parts before it left me
