Right little bit of good news that a friend of mine has had a look at the car and the bonett and the bumper can be repaired so it is just the wing, bumper bar and the lights that need replacing, and to top it off he has given me a great price to get it done.

So once the parts are sorted the car will be in the garage and back at the scoobynet meetings sooner rather than later

The height of the damage that looks like a 4x4 or a van.

I'd ask police to list all similar vehicles leaving the carpark at that time... There wont be many.

Alternatley, it could have been an unfortunate hit and run by a very heavy shopping trolley.....

"I managed to park my car just out of sight of the CCTV, If my car was a foot more forward they would have got it hitting my car but sods law I parked just out of view. Both me and Dave are spreading the word as far as we can to try and get a lead on who owns this van, Police can't really do much more due to lack of numberplate or CCTV "

Hey guys, thought id mention this

I was out last night and got talking to a guy in a jdm blob sti, turns out that his car has also been slammed by a yelllow tipper straight along the passenger side of the car, hit the back wheel 2 doors and front wing, he could not beleive it when i showed him this thread, the bastrads had also decided to tip aload of rubbish along side it as well!! Cant just see this being an accident as he was out lamping and where the car was parked is near enough deserted and up a lane to the mountain! There are some sick people about these days!

Just thought i would put this on the thread for others too see, maybe a coincidence but seems very unlikely imo especailly dumping rubbish around it as well, i couldn beleive it when i asked what happened and he replied with that, he could not beleive it when i showed him this thread and that is had happened to another fellow scoob owner! Dont suppose there is some sicko out there purposely doing this kind of thing to our beloved motors

This happened in cwm felin just outside of blackwood

Could be onto something there as its strange how 2 scoobs have been damaged by a yellow van and then drove off. However there was a blue blobeye parked not far from my car and a silver classic wagon parked in the same car park that were untouched.
My car was on its own i.e no cars either side of it when i left it to go into the shops so would have been an easy target unlike the other 2 which were surrounded by cars but still no idea why someone would do it on purpose to any car!!

I've passed on to the police a number plate of a van matching the description given to us by the witness that a friend spotted in the area a few days ago. Not holding out much hope as unless it has green paint matching my car on it somewhere there is not much the police can do!

Damage is still raising its ugly head over a week after the scoob was bumped into.

The impact pulled off my drivers side light and ripped the bulb holder off as well pulling the wires forward and leaving 2 of them exposed (that would have gone into the holder).

I tried my lights today and the passenger side light doesn't work or my rear lights! I still have brake lights, indicators, and revesing lights but no other lights on the rear. My main headlights still work even though one is way off due to it being pushed towards the passenger side of the front end.

My question is are the side lights attached to the rear lights so if a bulb blows or something happens to the side light it kills the rear lights as well until new bulb or wiring reattached.

Repair bill keeps on mounting so hoping its a simple do it yourself fix on this one.

Cheers Ian.

A blown fuse it was. Turns out the exposed wires were touching and got a bit wet with all this rain blowing the fuse.

All,

Car has gone into the garage to have the bodywork done, we have found out that when the sidelight was ripped out they have actually ripped the metal crimp connecters out of the plastic plug that fits into the back of the sidelight lightbulb.

Its a bit of a long shot but does anyone have a complete plastic connector block or the crimp connectors that live inside the plastic block??

Default Finally repaired and back on the road

The scoob is back from the body shop and looks as good as new. Was well worth waiting the long time spent without the scoob ( 3 weeks) due to one thing or another cropping up at the garage where the work was being done.

Here you go. Photo's of her all put back together looking shiny and new. All damage was cosmetic luckly.

At the body shop when picking her up.

Back home.

She did however give both me and tiptoptaff a scare this morning, We have been away all week sunning it up abroad and got home this morning. First of all she wouldn't start (Flat battery) and then when used the car to go shopping to charge the battery she was overheating. Looks like it was an airlock so hoping the problem is solved as can't really afford a head gasket repair so soon after the front end bodywork repair.
