I'd like to see shops closed on a Sunday and go back to having families spending some time together at home, sitting around a dining table (remember them) having dinner etc. It's an important part of family life and something that is still very much part of European culture apart from it seems, in Britain.

Surely there is more to life than going shopping in a bloody supermarket.

Yep

I would even have shops open for half day on Saturday then that's it for the weekend.

I totally agree !
Its should have never been allowed. A lot of people I know don't get a choice, they have to work on Sundays.
