Swimmers and divers automatically attract that sort of speculation.

Ian Thorpe, for example, camp as Christmas but has never admitted whether he is or isn't gay. Tom Daley might well be, but too young to be able to admit it to himself, let alone his family etc.

But then we might start off the Sexuality Ignorant on Scoobynet who will protest till the sky turns green that these guys "choose" to be gay etc. Just don't get me started.

Which reminds me of a text I got yesterday.

'Thorpedo' a great nickname when he was swimming like a Torpedo. Not so good now he's teaching kids to swim.

Ian thorpe isn't your typical lager swilling macho Aussie but I'm not sure he's camp. Tom Daley is camp as Christmas though, the way he talks and walks lol. Plus diving is very ghey.

I've had silver medals in the past for things (although not in the same league as the Olympics - or even close for that matter) and they have meant nothing to me as somebody else has won - that's my outlook.
That must apply to me as well then when I made my own point. Most of the competitors were actually pretty happy at having actually qualified to take part in an Olympic event. To have been good enough to get a silver or bronze medal would mean a great deal to them let alone actually winning a gold one.

Tony did you actually see any of Ian Thorpe's interviews during the Olympics??

If that isn't your definition of camp, i have no idea what would be.

Indeed it does. It would mean a great deal to me if I made it there so maybe in hind sight I probably would be fairly happy with a bronze.

Never mind 1st,2nd or 3rd.
What about those that are so happy that they got 5th or 6th, and are looking forward to Rio to not win again.

Becasue of the Olympic 'experience'

Don't forget, the Olympic village is a 'shagfest' every athlete got 15 johnnies at these games, more than double in Beijing because there weren't enough to go round.

Basically, lots of bored young people sitting about with lots of energy to get rid of...

I would like to see you dive from a few meters into water, you would shatter every major bone in your body, considering you break bones doing regular day to day activities
