Who was said tour operator?
Been to Australia a couple of times, I cant sleep on planes, so by the time I land I'm exhausted, sleep for a day then im fine. Coming back is worse, 3 or 4 days of bad jet lag.

It won't take a week to adjust to the time difference. As someone else said, try to get in sync with the new time zone as soon as possible. As in, if you arrive in the morning, try and stay awake until the evening when you should be going to sleep.
I've been over there three times now to visit my wife's family, and I usually go a week or two after my wife as I can't get the time off work, so I am usually only there for two weeks or so. All this stuff about going for a month to get over the time difference is nonsense.
You'll be glad it's not for too long anyway, the people are hateful.

That's a bit strong to say they are hateful, not all people or states are like that, but general consensus with people I meet say those in Sydney are ignorant. Personally I've never had an issue, maybe it's the circle of people you surround yourself with.
