Can't wait for the 100m semis and final tonight, highlight of the games for me. I was surprised how well Chambers went in the heats yesterday so good to see him though to tonight as well.

Yesterday for me was the best tv I have ever had the pleasure of watching. For once, this country has something to be so very proud of. Our Olympians have been quite simply. Amazing.

A quite stunning day
For me it has to be Jessica as my pin-up and Mo Farah who just looks like a long distance chap
And well done to Rutherford who just doesn't look like a long jump champion - aren't they supposed to be black with long gangly legs these days?
And I do hope that the Silver medallist rower duo come to realise that getting a silver is pretty damn good!
And to cap it all that piece of British black humour as the soccer boys lost on penalties
What a great day.

I remember when long jump was contested by the sprinters and Carl Lewis reigned supreme. That must have changed due to the risk of injury and wanting to make sure they remained fit for sprinting as i'm sure many of today's sprinters if they did the long jump would hammer the current distances being achieved.

Best TV I'e watched for many, many years. I used to be a bit 'meh' with the Olympics and much preferred the football World Cup, but this blows that into the weeds.

I thought all the hype rammed down our throats by the media in the last few months would ruin the games, but I can honestly say that was some of the best tv I've seen, to be in the stadium would have been amazing.
The performances by our athletes really does put the overpaid footballers out there to shame.
I've gone from being not being fussed by the Olympics to absolutely loving it!

Kenyans and Ethiopians are legging it in Women's marathon. Tedious watch but good on everyone that are still running. Their sheer determination is so impressive.

I draw the line at watching the marathon, just too long for me. The 10,000m was a struggle but Mo was the one reason for watching it and a true highlight of these games so glad I did. Had Radcliffe been running I may have suffered it today but with her out there is no interest in it for me. The sailing and show jumping are a bit meh on BBC3 as well, spoilt after last night's excitement. Just waiting for the tennis.

Same here.......HATE sport, and was moaning about having to put up with it all on the telly, but I've been TOTALLY sucked in by it all, getting all teary, and yelling out when we win!
What's happening to me?

LOL good to know you are enjoying it.
I love sport and was a keen sportsperson myself. I'm a big fan of racket sport. Really pleased that Serena did well in hers. What a cool, calm and collective player.
My heart has statred to race for Men's Singles Tennis. Tim H. has just ponited out the effect of closed roof on Murray, just in case it starts to hammer down again. I really hope Murray gives Federer a good run. Good luck, Andy!

Yep, Ben wins gold. What a brilliant tactical campaign, bearing in mind the Dane had the wood over him for the first 6 days. And well done to the other sailing duo for their silver.
15 golds now - 4 off Beijing with a week left.
Come on Murray, Pendleton and Clancy! More golds please.
