Trust British football and penalties to spoil the party. Again!

Serves Pearce right for leaving Beckham out, w4nker. 1st time i've ever chosen to watch athletics over football and so glad I did, what a fantastic evening of tv.

Sod the football.

6 Golds in a day, 3 in an hour!

Unbelievable. So proud and happy.

Women got knocked out yesterday too, Cris.

Tonight was the first time me & MrsD have ever watched a distance race , Neither of us could believe how tense we got

Mo Farah is awesome, how on earth did he manage those last two laps

I couldn't cover 800m that quickly on my pushbike

Are you for real

We should all be grateful that we still have people in this country who are aware of what the G in GB stands for

Besides, in the jingoism stakes, we as a nation pale into insignificance behind the Yanks and the Aussies

I've always found their patriotism more healthy and genuine, here it's nauseating and pathetic when you consider how class ridden and divided we are, seems deluded or fake depending upon who is exuding it.

Tell you what Tony, you sit over there in the corner and enjoy your pint,
We'll get on with watching some FANTASTIC sport and being proud to be from a Nation which for a brief moment, is united in sport and achievement.
I love that you can wave a union jack in pride for once, and not in irony.

awesome showing from jess and mo, she exudes confidence, didnt seem any doubt especially when she won the 800 just for the hell of it. apparently shes going to be in the 100m hurdles ,her time would have won 4 out of the last 5 olympics.

i just like how down to earth and genuine they are. modesty rather than egoism if thats the word

Bursting with pride bringing a little bit of the "Great" back into Britain. I admit I was cynical at the start but the commitment and effort from our boys and girls is making me proud ... keep up the good work
