I wave at all the scoobs I see though it's difficult to do it soon enough when they're going opposite direction on the M62! Many hatches don't seem to have got into the waving thing but then I often mistake them for Astras anyway........

well today a middle aged woman (in sliver blob wagon)looked at me in a strange way when i flashed and waved in the P1
but last week i flashed a lad in a bug sti in the fridge van from work, up near the a404 towards henley and he waved back (top lad lol)

Regular on M62. Hatched to the max and always wave. If your denying economic sense to run a brilliant car it's worth a wave. On balance mostly get a wave back, just a bit of fun.

Er......could take offence at that Always wave and quite often get blanked so it's definately not just a female response to ignore

I flashed a blue WRX hatch coming towards me the other day. The driver didn't respond but as the car passed, I noticed it being driven by an old dear who must have been eighty plus. It's good to know that there are older Scooby drivers than myself.

I'm in the south east (Kent) and had a white hawkeye wave the other month a week into my STI hatch ownership. Kind of missed him and ended up not waving back but I've now got a heightened awareness of every scooby I drive past in case they wave. I probably wouldn't do it first though in case I look like a plum

And no, not mid life crisis either, some of us buy a Subaru as a second or third car. You can also enjoy cars without wanting to be part of a community or turn up at local meets.
Saying that, I wave at newages and years back I would wave at old Land-Rovers when I drove them, or stage prepared rally cars...

I think the problem is lads,Imprezas are now owned by everyone, not just enthusiasts... some people just dont know how much of a heritage they are driving in.

I got confused when I got waved at when I first got the scoob. Thought maybe the guy I brought it from was a popular guy. Then it clicked! Now I'm an over eager waver and often get ignored!

Yeh, sorry Leeseylou. I probably haven't seen enough hatches to recognise them as easily as I do the earlier models and they think I'm not waving so why should they
There does seems be fewer Scoobies on the road as when I got mine in 2006 perhaps it is the runnng costs of older cars plus more time for accidents and lower sales volume of hawkeye and hatches?

I always wave, flash or quick flash on the hazards.
Don't care if I don't get a wave back
And of course, I always wave a pedastrians who catch my eye some of the responses I get from that are amazing

I've only had my hawkeye since yesterday but I've waved at three people so far and only one response back
To be fair though the one I did get a response was awesome, I drove past him on the M25 and he pulled back up alongside me and smiled and gave a thumbs up before heading off to his junction! Good lad!

Maidstone here too, trying to track down the guy who bought my hawkeye the night before I managed to buy it! I was gutted at the time, but now more than happy with my bug eye (for now )

Now, you're lucky to get a flash! lol pardon the expression, but you know what I mean!!
I have a Hawkeye, flashed the newer shape (does it have a name by the way?) and was ignored......left me feeling rejected and mugged off lol

But why? We're all in the same club and have iconic vehicles, regardless of spec, shape, age, male, female, who really gives a ****!
Would love to start something on here and get us all flashing, waving and thumbs upping again.
The good old days need to come back!

I'm a hatch driver and as mentioned a few posts up I do wave, flash, nod all the time.
Today I have been into Coventry and have managed to see 3. Each time I flashed and waved and what did i get back.... NOTHING!!
Its not just us hatch owners.
One of them today looked lie a family outing.. the driver looked at me as if I was nutts when he passed me.
I just dont think people know what it means anymore. ... too many 'normal' people driving them nowadays - not just car enthuiasts

ive had a few waves round here but seeing as its only me and a hawkeye in the local area it kinda gets boring flashing the same dude, have flashed a couple of classics and new ages while forgetting im in the transit, didnt get a flash back but thats most likely due to them thinking im trying to selll them a dwagggg or tarmac there drive lol
