When I came out the recovery room (yes I was in a bad way from getting myself so worked up from my phobia lol) it was a little bit worrying, can remember the total lack of feeling in my lower back and took a while before I could walk for not stumbling. Think that was maybe down to the local anesthetics in the area.

When I left hospital I remember sitting in the car and saying to my mrs.. I think it's worked. The next day I was back to how I felt before the op. Waited for it to come good and nothing ever changed.

Don: thanks for the above.

James: That's not good, is it? When I came home after this discectomy, everything was good, the leg pains had been turned off as if by magic, leaving a lot of pain round the wound site, which went after about five weeks.

Maybe I then did something, thinking it was OK, and hurt the nerve again.........
