Nice I got some heavily ported and polished v4 heads with supertech valves and springs that are fitted to jdm hawk engine then il prob max out a sc42 with 20% meth. 402 on a Sti 3 engine for a year and a half is prob pushing it now so il drop this engine straight after totb.

Still debating if to remove these head and fit some avcs big ports but not sure if the hassle worth it with the wiring loom adaptors etc to fit them. I'm just hoping these built ones be ok.

pmsl shaun....It is mentioned on the scoobyclinic billet turbo thread when the car made the power it did if you would like to verify my comments mate.

Also feel free to contact the mapper Pat herborn as he will explain in great detail im sure the reasons for the corrected 4% loss by the dyno on that particular day.

Tbh i didnt understand when pat explained back then, and i sure dont understand now either as its way beyond my knowledge and understanding of dyno`s,barometric and atmospheric pressures, air density and temps, actual feet above sea level and all the rest of that dyno jargon.

Its just the truth and nothing but......

Mate.... you fail to see the true irony of my post, which was meant in jest and in some way an utter **** take against me (not you).

However let me explain what you're referring to: the correction (normally seen in this country as measured using the DIN factor) is a way to "level" dyno readings, so it should make no difference if any of the atmospheric conditions change, which they will, not only on the day (possibly) but certainly at different locations etc.

In reality your car should make more power (on the road) when it's cooler and less when it's warmer (just by using simple logic with regard to charge temps and mass of air). Correction factors should help to mitigate such differences impacting a dyno result. Repeatability is key imo.

Look at it this way...... it's a way to gain consistency.

So in short..... my car and probably everyone elses forced induction cars will make more power in colder temps, so you're not alone in that. It's a moot point imo when using dyno's that are correcting as they should.

This is a very simplistic view, but to give you an idea...... in the cold weather you will probably have power corrected down, and in the hot weather you will probably have power corrected up. The end result should be the same though.

Cheers for that shaun, that kinda makes more sense to me now as it was a very cold 5 degree`s ambient temp on the day of mapping,NICE 1 MATE.

I did put up my results twice but never got into the board.
Recently had it done again now with a BIG D ported vf43 plus 20% meth map.
2.0 blob Sti, Japspeed ported headers, Japspeed de cat, Japspeed fmic, RAMAIR induction kit, 650 injectors, 91k miles. Mapped by Martyn j @ ENGINETUNER.
381/390 on v power
412/412 v power + 20%meth
Cheers Chris

Did make 390 on v power but the map was too lean so he richened it up as it gets hard track use.
Here's that graph.

@ Shaun.
If to make your life earlier, This graph has the vf43 vpower and meth map together.
The low plot is the first remap the car ever had.
Cheers

joz8968,
Thanks for that - but is your middle name "half a job"!

What makes you special to have your line in red.
What makes you special for us to refer to your garage for basic spec.
What makes you special to **** up the format of someone else's entry.
What makes you special to have two graphs in the table against one entry.

Basically... what makes you special apart from your needs!

All meant in jest..... but sort it out!

Easier for people to quickly locate - after all that is the point of posting one's own entry (for anyone that's interested).

What makes you special for us to refer to your garage for basic spec.
Once again, for anyone that's interested, they can quickly see the supporting mods (rather than list a summary). I'm so sorry they don't meet your grandiose expectations.

What makes you special to **** up the format of someone else's entry.
Not aware I did - could you point it out and I'll rectify.

What makes you special to have two graphs in the table against one entry.
Shows flywheel bhp + torque on one; fueling/boost on t'other. What's the big deal? That said, I've got rid of the second one - happy?

Basically... what makes you special apart from your needs!
I'll ignore that, as every point has been explained. My entry is no more 'self important' than your post.

All meant in jest..... but sort it out!
Sorry dad.

Totally missed the point! Shaun was actually a lot more diplomatic and polite than some would have been. The liberal use of smilies would suggest the post is tongue in cheek and not a dig. Lighten up man.

joz,
You're normally a light hearted chap..... I was TOTALLY taking the ****.

I must admit I perhaps didn't make that clear enough with only eight smilies used.

Even though I replied in a 'I'm a little miffed' manner... I'm not really.

Just thought it'd be fun to see how you'd react.

But, so that everyone's happy I haven't 'spammed' this thread, I've deleted my post. So all's good.

Back to the action.

Whitevanman - you also have the hyper cast pistons right? Being a jdm engine. Is that safe at that power? All out of a sc42 that's a great result.

You'll probably want to pay attention to torque, boost & usage to ascertain feedback.

My set-up achieves the most torque out of all the graphs on this thread (so far) and I'm using a JDM engine. The power stage you see represented in my graph is utilised "as is" on meth (not suggest anything otherwise for anyone else on this thread - just wanted to state the context though). For road use I would suggest it's "OK", but is bordering on the edge for long term reliability I suspect. When my car see's any track use..... it won't be running a map any where near this power level on this engine - my low boost VPower map will be used in that instance.
