Apparantly this is the first UK customer bought BRZ in the UK. The new owner promised to take it to Litchfields for them to have a butchers, prior to their own vehicle being delivered in a couple of weeks.
I was luckily at Licthfields having some work done to my JDM Hawkeye STI, so it was rude not to take the opportunity to hog a few shots.
Never seen one before (in the flesh) but must admit I quite like it!
Iain told me about the types of upgrade packs they will be developing, as soon as they get their hands on their own vehicle. Not sure what I can say about the exact details, but 300bhp and a whole host of handling upgrades will be on the cards.

I must pop over to give it a test drive when its ready
There are 6 options, although IIRC UK dealerships are pushing just the 2 choices of TOP spec with either 6MT or 6A/T gearbox=+£1.5K dearer
Top spec Flappy paddle = "SE" with Push start keyless entry etc. 6A/T
Top spec 6 speed manual = Type "S" with Push start keyless entry etc and 6MT gearbox.
Mid spec Flappy paddle = Type "RE" without Push start keyless entry etc and 6A/T.
Mid spec 6 speed manual = Type "R" without Push start keyless entry etc 6MT gearbox.
Low spec = Type "RA" without alloys and Recaro seat etc price unknownplus £1.5k for flappy paddle

So they've squeezed 197bhp out a 2l boxer? I've not found much about the engine spec, cams, pistons, valve timing etc. but would be interested to see. Will it have a burble though

Well I was one of the lucky ones and had a test drive at Subaru newcastle on Thursday morning as they got it for a couple of days for customers
I went to see it a few weeks ago to see it in the showroom
Unfortunely it was a really wet day so didn't get much chance to really test it out properly
As the misses went with me we were given an hour for valuation it was based in north shields so not knowing any of the area we took it to Whitley bay rather then risk getting it into the proper countryside so I was stuck to 30/40 zones
It looks fantastic
Very low
And wider then you think
Inside it feels nice and not a claustrophobia as a Mazda mx5 or porsche boxster and that does make a pleasant difference
The seats are superb and really grip you but if your a bit fatter then me I'm 13-5 stone you might feel a bit tight
The misses loved the seats the dashboard is far higher quality plastics over my hatch and wagon I own a real plus this for Subaru the red stitching makes for a very classy envoronment to live in ,not quite the wow factor of a TT or Porsche but I was really impressed with it .
The one I had was a manuel with the push button starter which is a nice touch ,clutch in ,button press ,it feels something special and a nice quite buzz from the engine .
It has all the toys you require and was a lot nicer then our now sold 350z
Headroom was something I was worried about being 6 ft but it was great with another 6inch of head room and the misses did not complaine it was too low neither ,and interersting she didn't seem to feel much lower then my other subarus
Very notchy with a lovely feel gearbox so tight and close together and on the dash a number to see what gear I was in .
Despite no turbo it revs really quickly and once you are past 4k revs the noise is magnicifant not a flat four sound but just a roar which is addictive and makes you want to continue and change up through the gear box and will potter along in 5th gear
Never had a chance to get into 6th gear because if the town area mostly 3rd gear
Got to st marys lighthouse car park and when the better half went to the toilet did a few figure of eights and I could not get the back end out at all it was amazing and really quick despite not having a turbo the light weigh makes it feel really responsive
Tried a couple of corners and it seemed ok but being in the town and really wet I could not really put it through the paces properly
The misses did say she didn't feel thrown back into the seat like in my classic though .
The noise was super when you put the foot down so the radio would never be used
We had to get back to the gargage and it was turning heads going through the town
Did I get the cheque book out ?
Delivery in red is 6months away so plenty of time to decide as I do need another test drive on the roads I know with proper corners to evaluate whether I can live with it or play it safe and get a STi with 4wd again as I know I can chuck it around at silly speeds and out the other side safely and I'm worried about fast progress in the rain and of course snow where I live at in the country the old awd against the safety of 4wd subaru at its best .
When I tested the classic and wrxd I decided instantly that I had to have the car but I could not decide instantly which does worry me and the misses did like the look of a plasma blue saloon and thought it might be better all round for the bad weather conditions we have and also a bit higher up too
So the jury's still out untill I see one with a massive rear wing in the flesh which might help me decide

Guys... this isn't an Impreza replacement, so I wouldn't think of it as trying to be one.
This car is about having fun and to be a drivers car all in one.... which I can 100% see you being able to do.

That was my car at Litchfields and I'm sure Iain can't wait to get hold of his. He had a big smile on his face when he drove it.
Subaru have built a great car and it is very much a Scooby.
Think we are aiming for plus 50bhp in the first instance, and I'm sure the chassis can handle way more.
LordHardings review is well made; it is lower and wider than you'd think, the driving position is great with the stick relatively high on the tunnel next to you. This plus the near vertical dash gives a real gt racer feel; I love it.
Destined to be a hit and a return to classic impreza turbo form IMHO.

I now have a P1 sitting in my garage, and though it's still great, it is getting on a bit now and I occasionally think about changing it. But for what? Not a BRZ, that's for sure - at least, not until a turbo version comes out.

I disgaree, I think that's exactly what it needs to be given that the current Impreza isn't exactly flying out of showrooms. I had to sit on the waiting list for my first Turbo, and it wasn't because the car was pretty or had a fabulous interior - it was because it drove like nothing else.

Now whether the new "needs" to be the replacement, is a different conversation entirely. It is what it is and it aint no Impreza replacement.

This is she at 34, just six months after giving birth to her first child. Now, while I am NOT a fan of her and far from a fan of the character she played on JAG, the woman did look good.
The BRZ is even sexier.
EDIT: seems like the picture didn't show up in the post. Are there any specific rules against women in bikinis, even though pics in questions are covers of fashion magazines (and NOT **** mags)?

It had an extra 50bhp
A big fast and furious rear Wing like the one on the concept STi
Front lip spoiler
Been a dry day
My own country roads where I live
Yes it would of been ordered now
I have to get it right as I would keep my next car for a long time
I love my Greenwagon and will never part with it but regret not buying the P1 12 years ago when I got my classic bit an extra 10k was a lot of money to me then but when I look back in hindsight I might as well have spent it so I must get it right with the BRZ and now really stressed out about it get one and be happy or wait for a BRZ STi or play it save with another hatch although I love the aggressive look of the saloon or hatch in plasma blue for not much more money but I must keep to Subaru for life

I could see the low spec "RA" with £15K of lithco tweaks special editition selling for £33K
but the RA from UK is in region of £19K plus £1.5K flappy paddle but as you know Imports are @@@@@@@@ expensive now
This would look nice with Type20S on the side of it
