The actual part swopping wouldn't be a problem as I took the centre console to pieces on my Hawkeye when I dropped some of the stereo carrier bracket screws behind the the centre console so I know what is involved with 90% of the work needed.

I would just need to find someone who could alter the electrical looms etc to suit but as it's never been done before (to my knowledge anyway) that person would have to be a pretty good sparky as I think it would involve quite a bit of ingenuity.

I will have a further think on this...

I hate having a sunroof, this would be much cooler on a wagon!

I would like the later centre console as my own was covered over by either the Japanese owner or the first UK owner who stuck on some carbon fibre tat to mask all the scratches / marks on the dash.

If I could find someone who had done this conversion on the earlier Spec C then I would gladly rip out all the scratched panels and fit the later style.
If you are looking for original parts, speak to this guy,i think he have still heater control from his Spec C

If I could guarantee that I was keeping my Impreza long term I would do both the roof vent and black dash mods.I really like them both!
Good luck with the cutting!
