Guys i owned an Evo 5 for 9 years and was an amazing car for its time.
Did all the usual mods ,decat sports exhaust,Suspension, air filter and ecuteked to 370 bhp.The downside for me was the servicing as people have already mentioned and the cost between dealerships all over the place, the cost for an ayc oil change varied between £120 to £60 go figure.Good thing nowadays is there is much more choice to take the car for servicing than back in the day. Also i went through 3 sets of diff bolts which cost £5 to replace but £200 plus to install which i suppose is better than the gearbox lol.Everday driving on normal roads was not a nice experience as you lost all your fillings, on motorways and duel carrageways lovely thing to drive. But as the car started to get older i was always worried about what was going to break next so decided to get a hawkeye and i love it as an everyday car its a joy to drive.Would i every buy another Evo Yes but as a weekend toy not my every day drive.
