Muteki SR48 Lug Nut: This is a longer (48mm) closed-end lug nut that includes a special socket key to remove and install the lug nuts. This is a great option to help protect your wheels from getting stolen. The SR48 Lug Nuts are manufactured out of cold-forged 1008 steel, which allows the construction to be stronger then oem lug nuts and much lighter. These weigh in at only 50 grams; much less than the weight of standard lug nuts.

Wouldn`t any long socket fit though. I`d be more worried about someone nicking all the nuts more than my alloys

The SR48's use a very specific wheel socket size and it is non standard, if you have a look at the sides of the wheel nuts they have ridges on them - this means you cannot use any old socket on them, you have to use the specific socket that comes with the wheel nut set.

If you think of it like this you have in effect 20 locking wheel nuts, rather than 4 which you would get in a standard locking wheel nut set.

If I hadn't of bought a set of Volks Formula wheel nuts then I would buy another set without a doubt.

Sorry I need to clarify something as I was busy at work when I typed the above and was doing it between phone calls, the socket is a specific size of M17 to be exact and this is non standard metic size which you will not find in a standard long socket set.

I made an error stating about the ridges as like I said I was doing twenty things at the same time, but as I have stated earlier the non standard specific size of M17 means that they cannot be removed with just any old long socket.

Sorry for any confusion caused but what I meant to say above still stands - as you have 20 non standard wheel nuts in my eyes they are still going to act as locking wheel nuts, in fact I think they are better than the run of the mill locking wheel nuts which if you are a seasoned pro at stealing wheels (which I am not ) can be bypassed very quickly.

I am trying to help out on this thread as it seems I am the only member of here who has actually used / owned a set of these wheel nuts, and before anyone states it I am not connected to the group buy in anyway.

Just thinking it all helps with the numbers ;-)

Did you see my earlier post? " If people are buying 2 lots surely that should account for 2 orders."

Yeah it does so we have the minimum required number of orders, but the more people the better chance of a higher discount

Discount on the reds would be £6.75, postage is £7.50 - not even free postage with that discount

As I said I'll call him tomorrow and see what he's willing to agree to

If you bought the more expensive nuts you'd save more than the postage
