Not regarded as long term first team players - other than de Gea who was the second best goalie on Opta this year-by any United fans I know, so I'm not sure what point you are scratching around trying to make to be honest, other than agreeing with my point that we were a team in transition this year.

Having said that Scholes, for example, is still head and shoulders better than any Liverpool midfielder even though he's 37.

As for the likes of Carroll, Henderson, Downing, etc, how do you think the rest of the league's fans view those donkeys...pmsl.

Nice necklaces by the way - I bet you look lovely in them?!

Plenty of silverware in the cabinet to polish over here Dunk thanks.

I dont get the chokers connection, unless you were aiming that at Lfc but why would you say that of your own team ? Lfc's issue was being not very good at football rather than choking.

Apart from a CL win, LFC have been somewhere between dross and below par for 23 years. Man U choked in the grand manner, that is all.

I do feel for King Kenny. Liverpool must appoint the right person this time or they run the distinct possibility of becoming an average mid table team. Unfortunately there is little sentiment in the Premiership these days but you have to feel for the fans as well, they don't deserve what is happening to the club

Check the league table, they already ARE an average mid table team.

Yeah but at least someone recognises that something is happeninmg to the club and it's not a positive thing.

I'd be more concerned with FSG than Gillette and Hicks, Lfc is becoming a proper American franchise, changed the club badge, got them wearing a kit manufactured by and American manufacturer famous for Lacrosse kits, calously tossing Kenny in the bin, I dont think they're there for the history of the club.

So many scousers on the Radio wanting Rafa back, I dont think FSG are that stupid sadly

Under those clowns we were 11 hours from administration.

I didn't say worse, I said I'd be concerned, for your history, which you're always shoving down our f*cking throats

I see Brendan Rodgers doesn't even want an interview, I guess he was well placed at the weekend to see how **** they were and he'd rather stay at the Swans

Quantify it
2nd, 6th, 6th, 8th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 3rd, 7th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th, 4th, 5th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 7th 6th, 8th. Those positions in the 1st Div and Prem indicate what I have been saying for years; Liverpool are no longer, and havent been a big team for years, if not decades.

Look at the players 'we' (LFC was my team as a kid, but everyone should support their home town team, thats my view) have had over the last twenty years. Bloody Julian Dicks, that set alarm bells ringing all that time ago and its been the same ever since. Glen Hysen (pronounced Hussein, he'd have no future with a surname like that these days!), Bruno Cheyrou, the list can go on, and does. Once upon a time there were players who were 'Liverpool' players, defenders who were up to the task, a la Nicol, Lawrenson, etc., midfielders who were flair players but could still stick a foot in, a la Gerrard, and strikers, we had some magnificent strikers, Rush, Tosh, Aldo, Owen etc. These days, anyone is potentially a 'Liverpool' player, it seems to be that if they are a) mediocre (for this read one of many( and b)not really in the spirit of the Liverpool ethos (for this read Suarez).

Liverpool as they were remembered are no more, the sooner everyone connected to the club realises that, the sooner the club can re-market itself. Look at Man City, they re-marketed in the grand manner, now a loadsamoney club with a pot to look at until next May.

Thats my lot on quantifying Liverpool's demise.

Man Utd had an eight point lead on City and when presented with the opportunity to get the other hand on the trophy, they choked. Lets hope the United players in the England squad feel that they have some unfinished business this Summer, with the ability they have they could drag the rest somewhere near the finish line.

I only wanted clarification on United Choking although the first 3 paragraphs will come in handy for the Lfc fans in denial

No worries. Hope I clarified it for you! Thats LFC as I see it, from the heart and the head.
I will say one thing though, if Man Utd fans want to press on, they need to worry more about Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea, and start forgetting about Liverpool. No longer in the same competition.
