Martyn will sort that one out for you.
Re Japfest, I noticed there were plenty of people taking an interest in the new ECU and Toucan combination. It's looking like there won't be many cars that don't end up with both!

Just waiting to get home tonight to check my serial number!!
Just hope its not one of the first lot otherwise will be very
What other sensors need to be fitted to the car to get oil temp, EGT, ACT etc working on the toucan?
Since i already have my defis installed can there sensors be used and the rest added? or will it be the case of fitting new ones full stop?

You probably already have an air charge temperature sensor as this really should have been fitted at the same time as your ecu. If not, then you need one!
You will need to fit add-on sensors for oil temp and pressure, fuel pressure and EGT and, ideally, wideband lambda.
At present, the AlcaTek ecu will need an external EGT amplifier and also wideband interface, such as an Innovate, but the other sensors can be wired directly.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to re-use your defi sensors. Each manufacturers sensors have different characteristics - the resistance of a temperature sensor at a given temperature, or voltage output for a given pressure. AlcaTek have standardised on specific sensors and included the correct characteristic "curves" in the firmware.
Hope this helps

You *will* have to use specific temperature sensors and *can't* reuse the defi ones, but the good news is that pressure sensors *are* OK to re-use
Thanks for the info above.
I'll be spaeking to JGM soon once the upgrades are given the go ahead.
Im sure Simon will know what is required to get it all working.
Thankfully my ecu is number 114, so very
it can be upgraded.

New ecus are ready to go out the door now for all models up to the DBW cars.
There is still a small queue for updating old units but it's getting shorter all the time.
Just to clear up, you don't get a brand new ecu, you get your old one returned with newer firmware and more features which require mapping.

Yeah sure, that's cool.
I'll wait for the demand to die down a bit. Then ask again on here.
enginetuner, now that a fair few punters have had it done, have there been any notable niggles/glitches that have shown up with the firmware flash?
