I've never heard of 'anniversary' edition. I was under the impression that the yellow V3 type R's were called 'signature edition' but I recenty learnt that this is incorrect. You just have a yellow STI V3 type R.

And there's only one true 555. The 1996 STI 555 edition.
I think you need to share your knowledge with SVA IMPORTS
If they were just "limited" after V4 Then this is advertised incorrectly along with a few others on there.

can anybody tell me please ,is the roof vent available as a 'kit' to add onto a plain roof? I reckon its that single item that makes the Ra version stand out , what chassis number range are these applicable to and what year range????

Yes you can buy the roof vent chap and fit to any classic (without sunroof obviously). There was a guy selling a complete vent kit on here last week.
They make good money though, expect to pay upwards of £250.

STI RA's got vents, as did the V2 555 and a few other limited models throughout the classic shape.

Right this topic about 555 and v limiteds in 53c blue well I am now totally confused

I have been on 4 different sites now trying to find out what model my impreza is and what I have come back with its a Impreza JDM Sti 555 version 2/3 as its a 96 model

this is the funny part someone says only Blue, I have a 406 silver one,

my vin plate suggests its exactly the same setup as the 555 V limited with the same interior code, although the only thing that's different is the emblem and the badge number as I have not got one

mine also does not have a roof vent nore a sunroof, if anyone can shed light on it I might be able to get some sleep lol

here is the information on mine

Vin = GC8C4ED
Opt Code = BJC
Trim Code = 528
Engine Type = EJ20GDW5PE
Colour Code = 406 (Silver)
Transmission = TY752VB4AA

other bits of interest on mine, it has the IC water spray, folding mirrors, sti interior, and a few other similar features, I know its not a RA version as I think I am right saying all these had roof vents which mine doesn't, also the 2 sites I have compared are below, the first is a guy called ken who has put up his Vin plate to show his is a 555 V limited compared with mine the only thing different is the option code BKC (mine is BJ) and the colour 53c (Mine is 406 silver) everything else exactly the same even engine and gearbox codes and GC8 codes too

http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html

also this site states everything that matches everything TD05 etc etc..

so as someone states above they are all blue this may not be the case unless we are talking 555 v limited (these where only blue to replicate mcrae`s winning Scooby as his was blue)

how I am reading it correct me if I am wrong (most probably) there are 2 versions of the 555 a standard version (mine with no badge) and a 555 v limited (in blue with a badge)

so confused.com right now lol, any light on this would really help me sleep at night

here is the other site

http://www.subaru-impreza.org/forum/...ine-codes.html

this states the sti ra v limited code should be

GC8C4DD =.WRX Type RA STi V2 V-Limited / 272

where mine is sti 555

GC8C4ED =.WRX STi V2 555 4 door /272

the sti 555 V limited should be as per mine from kens 555 v limited

thanx for everyones help sorry to throw a spanner in the works having a silver 555 lol

I cant put a pic of mine in here but I can send via email to show authenticity

surely that's what I have got a version 2 STI 555 but its 406 silver, soon to be white, as I wanted a white one, although mine is a cracker 60k miles on the clock dry stored for 6years in a barn, bought for a lad that had cancer and died and the dad couldn't bare to sell or use it so whacked it in a barn, seen it bought it on my drive, needed brake discs for mot as they where warped, but she is all nice and standard except for a HKS SSQV2 bov and I have been told a Blitz nurspec exhaust but it has no writing on it so I think its gonna be something different but sounds awesome

look in my garage and you will see it, I am more than confident its a STI 555 version 2/3 as its a 96 N reg, DVLA have the tendency to take a year off you for first model versions (authenticated model start version etc..) they usually get it wrong as well cause I have a 1990 LMC motorhome and its registered as a 1988 E reg lol but everything is a G reg parts hehe anyway back to the topic.... it has the lightweight panels and bonnet etc.. I am putting the version 6 front end but managed to get a import version 4 lightweight bonnet and fitted that so its got the nicer front end with the crystals and so on, just gotta get finished on painting then I can fit the version 6 bumpers skirts etc.. I have done the boot lid and spoiler (version 6) so looking good

What you have is actually a V2 STI. It shares the same Model code as a 555 because the its based on the V2 STI.

the 555 V limited was only available in blue you mean, there is a standard 555 model as well (not labled as but its exactly the same setup down to the nuts on the wheels, only diff is the plaque colour and emblem on seats)

its a 555 just not a V limited, look at the pics on my thread and check out the number tell me what it is, according to the numbers and the vin plates its exact same setup inother words, they got my car at JDM painted it blue, put a pair of seats in the front with a 555 logo and eblems for the FIA and then they made a plaque and put a number to it, that's the only difference between mine and the 555 v limited, so in theory that makes mine a standard 555 setup correct me if I am wrong

No, the 555 was only available in 53c blue. There is no such car as a 555 vlimited.

Your car is a sti V2... the end.

Trust me, this is one area that I am very clued up on.

The difference between your car and a 555 are very minor. Both start life as a STI V2 hence why the model codes are the same,, the 555 has 53c blue paint, a plaque and a roof flap.
If your car does not have these then its a V2 sti.

basically that's what I said, the 555 v limited started life as my car, it was painted blue gave the emblem and seats oh and roof flap and then painted them blue

it was done to celebrate the FIA rally win, 5 Countries 5 Rallys 5 Continents
what I was trying to say is the v2 sti (my make and model) was the base for the 555 that's why everything is the same on the vin inc trim etc but the difference was 53c everything else matches

so in theory (this is the bit you cant grasp) mine is a 555 base model see where I am coming from?????

to be honest I don't care mine is proper nice very low mileage and mint to drive having the TD05 20g on it, it drives very smooth as well when ya potter about, its clean and tidy and will eventually be white so I have one of the lowest mileage white classics in the country

and I cant moan about that

What you can not grasp is that you don't actually know what you're talking about.
I mean come on, earlier in the thread you didn't even know what version your car was

Link to your profile.
https://www.scoobynet.com/garage/199...%20Shaggy.html

You keep going on about a STI 555 Vlimited when I've told you that isn't even a model.
The STI 555 and STI RA Vlimited are two very different cars. The only Vlimited model available in MY96 STI guise was the STI RA.

So now you're saying your car is infact a STI V2 (like myself and others told you) but is the base model of a 555. So you think Subaru took a brand new complete STI 2 like yours and then stripped it back down and transformed it into a 555......no.
What they did is use a normal Impreza shell (like yours), sprayed it 53C blue, fitted a roof vent and bolted all the STI bits on. Then branded it a 555.
It is basically a STI V2 like yours as both cars share all the same parts (except the roof vent) but it didn't actually start out as a normal STI V2.
You understand what im saying chap ?

Your car is just a STI Version 2, and that's that.

Anyway, lets here more about this car of yours.
Whats the spec chap ???
You said its got a TD05 20G fitted, must be making some decent power ??

I must admit I don't know what mine is running, Its exactly how I bought it, my first plan is changing the colour to white, once I have done that I will then have it rolling roaded to see she is producing, I know its got the quick shift close ratio gearbox and TD05 20G on it Zorst hks filter and bov and that's about it, its only covered 60k miles so quite low mileage especially for a sti, I have had to give is some TLC bodywise but hey its been stood for 6 years under a tar paulin

You sure about the 20G ??
What makes you think it has one fitted ??
The 20G is a large turbo and not recommended on standard classic engine and early 752 box imo.

As for the gearbox, if its a standard box then its the same box used in the wrx. The wrx and sti 2 used the same box and they are not close ratio like an RA.
