Only 2 months!

What, fully finished - as regards your end 'goal'?!... Everything done (aside from a little 'project creep' here and there)?! Impressive.

Brill, can't wait lol

Just promise us you won't do a 'De Niro' on us again, by going deer hunting again!

I've got 98% percent of all the parts already as I was allowed to keep the other Car so technically it's just a reshell. However, as the shell was practically a bare shell when it was bought it seemed like the ideal opportunity to make it perfect.

The only things I don't have for it at the moment are wheels and the ECU.

Once it comes back from the cage being welded in it will all take shape quite quickly. I'm dropping it off for the cage work on Wednesday next week.

Fitting a cage, so its not going to be a road car? as you don't want to bump your head on the bars in an accident as you will hurt yourself!

Nice to see you getting back on after a fall so to speak,"subaru swansong" yeah right you might fool the mrs with that one, but we all know you bleed sonic blue blood, and your bones have garret stamped on the inside.

I'll reserve judgement on the colour until i see it in the flesh, but it's nice to see a bloke thats not afraid to express his feminine side.

Good luck, and remember to keep your foot in next time you go for a spin, lift off oversteer is a bitch

Is it the same hue as the Clio 182 Cup's French Racing Blue? Or a bit darker than that?

It's a bit darker than the Renault one. Looks awesome in the flesh.

I'm undecided whether I should do the whole car this colour or break it up with a carbon roof (vinyl) and the centre section of the bonnet in carbon too.

What do you think guys?

Carbon roof would look good, but having seen cars with the bonnet part or fully done i'm not keen, they either look a bit taxi or fast and furious.

The XK has a Carbon effect chin spoiler & the rear spoiler blade is carbon too which does look very nice. You should do at least the roof and spoiler fin/blade whatever it's known as.

Carbon roof will look goo,but proper carbon roof will looks good too

About the your bonnet,i would go if its possible with carbon bonnet, just don't paint the carbon bonnet,is just disgrace paint the carbon

3M Di-Noc carbon foil looks good, but i don't know, not looking right in my view,i know proper carbon bonnet is expensive, but sometimes you will find good deals here or elsewhere

I will never put a carbon bonnet on any car. Have you seen what happens if they catch fire? Without one you stand a good chance of saving the car with one it melts and the fuels the fire making the situation worse.

On this i never think, that's true Daz about the catching fire.

But you can use something like foil which will/can prevent against the catching fire plus if you will be using fibre glass bonnet, this may happens too

I'd agree with a carbon roof as iirc it can save 10kg above the cars centre of gravity. I've never liked the look of a carbon bonnet and once you learn it barely saves weight then the point is lost.
Is this purely a track car daz?

I was wondering why looks were being considered. I'd say keep the bonnet the same colour and maybe carbon scoop/vents?

If you've got an actual carbon wing, I think you'll be disappointed with other parts wrapped as it never looks quite right and it won't ever match. Real carbon bits or don't bother in my view.

I don't see the point of building any car whether it be for road or track if they look sh1te.

I see what you are saying but if it were me and I was just building for track then looks would come some distance behind performance.

I don't see any reason why you can't have both.

No reason, just I suppose a track car is for track in my mind whereas a road car will be seen more so should look the part. A track car can look like crap as long as it provides the fun and does the job.
There's no reason a great looking road car can't be used on a track.
I can't talk mines a shed and a road car andI won't be respraying at all lol.

This.

Daz, you're well known for doing things the right way and i think fake carbon wrap is a step back on what otherwise looks like an impressive build list.

Are you still based Donny way?
