Now that the engine bay has been painted I decided to go over the top of the gravitex on the under side of the car.

Bit of delicate masking in the engine bay and it was time for some paint. I'm quite please with how its turned out. Just need to get the front and rear subrames sorted and I can start on putting some of it back together

Starting to put things back on it now.

Need to get it back rolling again so it can go for the cage welding in next week.

The cross members needed some attention so the have been tarted up today and then put back on the car.

86F (RB5 Grey) and the blue I've used go together extremely well.

Very nice Daz,can't wait to see finished project.

You will go with "standard" rotated pipework or you will go again with front mounted turbo?

Been having this debate on 22B. Its a totally different colour in the flesh.
Agree the pictures make it look the same but its a fair bit darker not that it matters as they are both great colours.

Bit more done today.

Acquired a set of Newage STI hubs (cheers Neil) gave them and the rest of the suspension components a tidy up today and I'm quite pleased with the results.

Here's some pics of the hubs. I also bought some thicker front Drive shafts too.

Going to put the rear together tomorrow.

I love the XK-RS blue, always wanted a car in that colour.
Excuse my ignorance, but what do the new age hubs give you? Is it just the new age rim fittment or do you get a wider stance on a classic?? As I am after this.

PS. Got a lateral built 2.5 if you need an engine? Although I would have thought yours survived the accident didn't it ??

Chris.

Hi Chris

Will be using my engine as it has the pinned block and 14mm head studs.

Newage hubs have been used as the fronts use bigger bearings and thicker driveshafts. The rears are r180 and take the brembos. The are the 100 x 5 set up not the 114.

I always think white multispokes look awesome with baby blue or French Blue colours. Just like on the Chevvy WTCC cars:-

And what's more, those great looking pukka motorsport alloys are readily available!:-

RAYS WHEELS 57 MOTORSPORT 17" G07WT 5x100 IMPREZA

The spokes are, very subtly, asymmetrically spaced.

They also do 'em in silver and dark anthracite. And also in 18" and the 5 x 114.3mm PCD.
