I wasn't going to comment on this thread, but I couldn't keep it in any longer!

Just one thought gives me confidence here, and that's the notion that you can drive the nuts off these cars, including off road Group N forest rallying, but you can't give them an MOT test without breaking it? I don't think so..

At the end of the day the car is in no way strapped down onto the rollers. If there was any adverse torque applied by these rollers the car would simply roll out. I reckon even if the DCCD was set to lock the only thing that would happen would be the car keep rolling out the rollers.

I did have one experience that raised an eyebrow back in my classic Impreza days.

Phoned up a local garage and got an 18 year old YTS candidate. "Impreza turbo mate, yeah we can do that....bring the car here in the morning and come and pick it up at about 3 and it'll be done"

If by "do" and "done" you mean ragged around he local town and then crashed into a lampost, yes, I'm sure it would. Neeeelss to say I declined.

Another funny moment.

Was about to take the MOT tester out with the brake meter, when he caught sight of the AP 6 pots and said "I think we'll do a stop from 30mph max; the last time someone showed me what they can do, I nearly threw up the egg and bacon buttie from the morning right into their passenger footwell"

Poor chap did look tense!

I'd definitely advise to 'belt up' first
