doesn't this defy the point a little? how can a devon and cornwall meet be half way up the M5??
There have been and will be exmoor meets which we all can go to, but there have been no devon or cornwall ones. It would be nice to keep it fairly accessible to people in these counties. There are also quite a few people who have never been to a meet (me included) that would prefer not to travel too far for first one.
I suppose it all depends on what we are up to. Are we going to a pub for a meal & chat then a driving session or what?
Whatever, I am looking forward to it! Hope to see you all there![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

Have to agree with Eagle 7, it is at least an hours drive upto M5, it would be better if we could keep it local, lets all have a brainstorm over it. What about the road to Kingsbridge and Dartmouth? From what I remember Dartmouth is a nice place! Or even into darkest Cornwall, nice road from Torpoint to Looe, the bikers love it! And there are plenty of pubs in Looe!

Could even do a circle, start in Plymouth, across Torpoint ferry, down to Looe, back to Plymouth on A38, tour the Hoe (show the boy racers some decent cars!) then into the China House for a drink and a chat(plenty of parking, and nice place)!

At last ! Greetings all u other Devon & Cornish"SCOOBY DOO'S"
Why didn't i think to look on 'ere before ?
Well guess what? I'm the S.I.D.C Regional Organiser for Cornwall, well, im supposed to be anyway.
Last November i organised a run out, meeting at Trerulefoot-Little Chef,& only 2 cars turned up!!!
Well im up for any meets with any of u,shift work &job permitting,in fact i was just contemplating trying to set up another meet.
Do any of u know The Liscawn Inn at Crathole on the Torpoint road coz the landlord there is ok about us meeting there provided i arrange it.We could all then meet up & have a yarn etc..
Anyway,no doubt ive seen some of u out & about already.
Safe Drivin',Hope see some(1) of u soon ??!!
Cheers Duracell

Duracell 'ere agen. Just read thru all the other threads about u guy's & what ur all up2.I can't meet up at Sainsbury's on saturday coz im bloody workin but i wil try to organise somethin very soon(a run & a meet)if you would like me to?
Dartmoor nice roads-yes,but its the 40mph that spoils it.
There's some good roads in cornwall, the A395 Launceston-Camelford being one,so maybe organise a circular route takin in good roads, nice scenery & pub/snack wagon or tea stop somewhere.
How does this all sound ?
Anyway,gotta sign of,work dictates.

Top suggestion from Scoobdoo. Like the sound of a bit of a drive + pub + showing off to the boy racers.
I also live 2 minutes from Sainsbury's, so I'll get a rare lie in.
Looking forward to meeting you all
Simon

Duracell: That sounds great, we'll do a cornwall meet another time when you are free, start a thread when you have more details. It is about time we did some more regular stuff down ere in the south!

tried that mate, still grounded it!
maybe that's just my driving ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The ones on the hoe are bigger than the ones in the rest of plymouth.
My cars only supposed to be lowered 3 cm though I am looking forward to comparing it to some others as I suspect it may be lower.
Those flaming bumps are very nasty to the underside of my scoob.

I have a request to the route organisers :-)
Can we please find a small tunnel ? to go through I would just love to hear what 6+ scoobs with - probably mostly modified exhausts would sound like, I know everytime I enter a tunnel on my own I am always grinning like a cheshire cat from the noise when i drive out the other side !
Please, Please ?? You know you want to :-)

On the way back from Looe to Plymouth we are going to go up the A38, and through the saltash tunnel, so your wish has been granted!! What I am looking forward to, is when we all get to the toll booths on the other side of the Tamar bridge. When those lights turn green, and the barriers raise, who is going to be quickest off the lights!!!!

So, just out of interest, lets have a head count, how many are planning to meet up? It would be nice to get into double figures! Then we can find somewhere nice to park up for a group photo. I have been informing as many scooby owners as I can (every scooby I see parked up, I put some info under their windscreen wiper!) and have posted info on SIDC, so with a bit of luck we should have a decent turnout, lets hope the weather is on our side!

I suppose in the time of political correctness it would be rude to say no!!! Everyone is welcome, its only for fun! But we will have to keep the scoobs in a group, anyway the VW`s,BMW`s and granada will struggle to keep up ;-)
