dump valve
cheers for the advice, the car has been mapped and tuned quite heavily, rebored to 2.2 with cosworth pistons gasket valve springs, then re-mapped by powerstation, with the boost control valve. I assume this was done on current dump valve and filter set up but can't be sure.
I am pretty new to subaru's and brought this on a whim as was bored of my current car. I am more used to my westfield with carbs and no turbo, but built that engine from scratch so got a mini idea about engines, just not turbo's and remapped fuel injections.
I think i'll run if for a while not giviig it too much spirit whilst I get used to it. Then give a full service.
Are dump valves re-buildable/servicable? Has anybody known of one to fail? I have no idea of the make of mine, but will do some research.
I brought the car with very limited receipts, so was a bit of a punt, but runs well with no strange noises. The previous owner suggests 395bhp, but doesn't feel like that to me, but I am running less than 1 bar boost at the mo, so thiose figures could have been with upping the boost to over 2 bar. Not totally sure on the other mods, but its had 9 owners before me and still only has 63k on the clock.
If there are any knowledgable scooby owners near basingstoke who want to make my life easier and try and identify what mods and bits and bobs I have on it?

I'd advise getting the car in for a health check at one of the Subaru specialists. Get it serviced etc and have them take a good look over the car and if possible get it on a dyno to check everything is sweet.
They will be able to tell you whats been done in the past and whether anything needs doing in the future. If nothing else, you'll have piece of mind that everything is sweet.

More fun yesterday! I go a puncture, took wheel off to find a small nail in tyre. No major prob, but checked wheel and found 2 small cracks in it! It 215/35/18. Garage reckons too low profile for these roads so too much stress on the wheel.
Not sure if I should risk repairing it or not? Thoughts?
