I just got in contact with the local Isle of Arran MOT garage who last MOT'd the car, and they confirmed details provided by the previous registered keeper who confirms he sold it to Platinum Imports as they knew him well.

Car was supplied without a fitted engine as the STi engine had blown up.
Car was supplied with an Apexi ECU and FC commander fitted.
Car was supplied with a fully forged Sti engine with Wiseco pistons and uprated top ends (unfitted) that was built in birmingham.
Car was not supplied with a WRX engine. So since in Platinum Imports possesion the 8S ecu has been fitted along with the WRX engine. A direct contradiction to what has been said in both email correspondance and on here.
Also Iwould like it to be noted that even though you have no idea about engine codes etc. you DO have a supply of spare wrx engines listed on ebay.

Awaiting your response.

NB. Could a moderator please lock down spares-for-you's post on the previous page from editing. I have a copy which has been sent to my solicitor, however it would be great if the live version remained unedited. Thanks
Good work fella

Hello, Look i wana see my customers happy dont wanyone to think bad of me, im not aware what engine that is in the subaru, but i will put this right, as stated David was happy with the car when he drove over 500 miles home and said it was "running spot on and got us home grand" , also stated all the codes of engine and gbox match up, and then few days later stating car is not powerful , engine is not sti doesnt mach up e.t.c.

The way i saw it same as anyone would is why say your happy then change your mind. Im not here to argue.

David you know when you came here you broke down and i fixed your car with you surely that should say something?

I also did state if you require anything for the future let me know i can give it at a good price...

Why have i come on this forum and replied to your thread?

Why am i still replying to this thread???

If you are not happy with the car i have 1 request... Can you please get engine checked to see if it is sti or not.

If it isnt then im willing to come to some kind of compromise. but please dont accuse me of engines e,t,c,

And btw spares-for-you is my old name have not been on this forum for many years now. Im a genuine seller of car parts so peeps dont take me the wrong way and hope to resolve this issue. As i like to keep a good reputation with community members and customers.

Sean Paul, the owner prior to you has forwarded me email correspondance between yourself and him. It clearly shows the car was supplied without an engine fitted - however it was supplied with a 2.0 block with wiseco pistons, heads with piper cams, an apexi FC ECU+commander, the standard ECU and Td05-18G turbo. This was backed up by the MOT centre manager who last MOT'd the vehicle before it reached leeds as he knows Sean personally.

Without any mechanical intervention on your part how does the car now have an engine fitted with a Td05-16G turbo and 8S ecu?

I find it incredibly hard to believe that you are unaware of which engine is fitted/which engine codes are which when you have imported 10 STi imprezas, 2x Type R imprezas (this was in 2008 so potentially more by now), and are actively selling wrx engines through your ebay store.

I'm not trying to name and shame here, I respect the fact you have a business which has been successful, and was really only looking for help in the first instance. I also appreciate the help you offered with my friends car, but I certainly dont appreciate being made a fool of and the evidence in this thread shows that this is exactly whats happened.

The only real solution here is either a) to have the car picked up along with £3850 paid via bank transfer/ secure payment. This doesn't include the money I've spent picking it up and insuring it. or b) to offer the money it costs to 'put the car right' by a respected dealer, which RA developments have quoted precicely - walbro pump + FSE FPR + NGK plugs (prep before andy will map) £250 fitted and £640 for Andy Forrest to map. The 8S ecu may need replaced also but I'm willing to take that on the chin. These prices seem very reasonable and they are the only garage I would trust within my location. The car STILL wont hold STi value since it has a WRX engine, so to me seems a very fair compromise.

Please let me know asap either on here, or through PM/email.

Kind regards,
David

Well, glad to say we were able to resolve amicably. The seller has refunded me £800 which almost completely covers my expenses to bring the power back up to scratch. I am happy with this offer and must give thanks to Platinum-Imports for sorting the issue and apologising for the situation via email. Sorry it came to all this, but glad we got it sorted and can move on.

Regards,
David

That's good news and as you're happy can't see there being a better solution - you don't have to screw around finding a new car

Great that everyone was able to take a deep breath, compromise and strike a deal that kept both sides happy in the end

Respect to platinum imports and s13silvia.
