Perhaps he didn't know his brother was busted selling these as genuine on another subaru site just last year, and now he just happens to find a batch of a 'similar item' in a car boot?

I'd agree if he had been asking more such as £10 per cap, but £2.50 would have just covered the eBay fee, envelope, postage and his time to send them all, so I don't see the scam?
