20% meth mix and mot emissions?
#31
5 litre top up and mix percentage!
The 5 litres is the fuel that burns up to take me home. Methanol is too dangerous to carry about in the boot. I use a 15% mixture, 20% brings the engine management light on every time! It is not a turbo model, so no remap!

So the fact it isn't a turbo makes a difference to using meth without mappjng?
Meth leans out the mixture so more fuelling is required (amongst other things).

I use something like 18% meth to fuel ratio.
I use v power , wait for light to come on. Add my 10ltrs of meth then fill to the brim.
If I wish to use just neate v power I wait again for light to come on. Add 15ltrs of v power ....use that and wait for light to come on then add 30ltrs of v power and wait for light to come on and fill with v power.
If I add meth next fill up for a treat I repeat process.
My car has passed a genuine mot for the whole time I've owned this car and that includes 850cc injectors, sports cat (rcm) , ****ek , meth .....

Meth isnt dangerous, I wouldn't advise drinking it but carrying a can in your boot is perfectly safe. Ive used it for the last year, had it on my hands many times and even got a face full and eye full earlier in the year.
I would suggest using gloves and glasses when handling because it hurts like **** when you get it in your eyes but if you do happen to spill a bit on yourself you wont lose a hand, lol....

Meth is dangerous and shouldn't be underestimated, any contact with the skin should be avoided. Of course mistakes can happen but due care should be taken at all times, including using an open area when metering it out. The effects may not be apparent at the time but it's carcinogenic and problems could surface later if enough was absorbed through the skin over time.

I googled methanol.
1) does not carry a carcinogenic label, petrol does (benzine)
2) is toxic, can cause headaches, impaired vision if you get enough, also blindness and death if you really go to town. Used carefully is no problem.
3) unlike petrol it burns invisibly.
4) is safer to carry than petrol, a) it doesn't ignite as easily, b) unlike petrol,it can be extinguished with water.
