My mate had a mastiff crossed with a pit bull. We was having a house party and the dog was sat at the top of the stairs when my mate the owner tried to pass him to yse the toilet he flipped out and went for him! Sum how probly due to the amount of coke we had sniffed he managed to wrestle it outside the patio doors and slide them shut. He only got bit twice. The dog sat outside staring at the door growling for about 6 hours until 4am. The next day he foned the rspca to be told its an illefal breed (no ****) and it was a police matter. Foned the pigs and they said its not there problem lol ******. So my mate who lives near a school said ill wait till 3.15 and ill loose him out the garden then. Within the hour the police and rspca along with an actual vet had to tranq dart the dog twice over the back fence befote they cud get close enuff to put it too sleep.
So i vote eithet number 1: lur it into your yard and with a direct hit to the head with a house brick and stick his body in the road. Or number :2 throw the dog in the boot of your car and drive 50 mile to an animal shelter and say he was tied to a lampost outside a shop.
If you go for number 1 tell your mrs it was number 2

He!!!! How very dare you. It's Mrs to you
The problem is, he is a nice dog and just wants company. I will not take it out on the dog. He is lonely. It's the old gangsta wanna be, who needs taking out, for leaving his dog alone all day.
If I am hanging the washing out, the dog hangs over the fence, whining.
But, my sanity and that of my kids is at the end of the tether, regarding visitors and noise. The dog knows no better. I have no idea how to handle this, for the best outcome for the dog and visitors. I care not about the neighbour, he can swing.

It looks like the dog just wants some company and some attention. If its friendly and gets on with Jet, why don't you offer to dog sit from time to time to give it something to do?
That way you get to know it better and can start some basic training
I know its not ideal, bit may be the best solution long term.

Took this pic tonight. My gate is 7' high, so that fence has to be over 9' high. Why on earth is the dog house up against the fence, giving the dog access to see everything.
Looking at the pic, is from walking along the back of my house towards the gate. The dog starts barking the minute anyone comes off my drive to come along the back of the house.
Going towards the gate from the other side, is where delivery drivers come. Oil, parcels, post etc. You can see why they get scared. I honestly think my only option is the Council, loathe as I am to try them.
In the last pic, you can see how close he gets to anyone coming down the steps towards my gate.

Sounds like the dog is just lonely to me. RSPCA would be the best route. It probably just barks at people because it is stressed. My old mate used to have a Rottweiler that did the exact same thing. It would never hurt a fly though. Just bark.

Don't you think he should not be able to see over a 9' fence though. When he barks and barks, it is directly at my other neighbours house. She has gone out for the day when he is really bad. Not really on, is it. He should move the dog house, so the dog cannot see what is happening on our properties. Problem solved. If he can't see, he can't bark or tower over delivery people and visitors.

You're right though - the simple solution is to move the dog house, or have put something on top of it so he can't get up to look over he fence.

Thanks hun. You should see the new one, that is going at the top of the drive. Whoah. The pic is in my iphone and I have no idea how to upload it to here. Not techy enough
Spoke to kids tonight, and my neighbour and we are speaking to Council, RSPCA and the Police, tomorrow. We are going to stress we want no harm to the dog, just the dog house to be moved so he can't access or see people connected to our properties.
Thank you everyone, who has contributed. Even the daft buggers. It has been most appreciated. I will let you know how we get on.

It's easy, L. The iPhone charger plug has the USB cable connected to it. You take it out, and attach your phone to your laptop with the USB cable. Your laptop should detect the Iphone camera automatically. You need to click on the option to view stuff on the camera. Then you drag and drop the pics as you would do from your camera onto your laptop. I am curious to see your new gate now. I like cool ironwork.
