I either need to buy a new ej33 block or find someone who wants to forge half their engine.

I don't have a micrometer but all labelling says they are 92.5. No extra cost, but the site didn't specify quantity.

I haven't as yet. I got a quote for the short motor build which was too good to resist, but in reality its twice what i paid for the pistons/rods etc, and that has taken me 6 months to save.
Have you still got yours?

Lol, yer. While those guys builds are inspiring I would never have the £££ to do one like that.

I been looking on fleabay and seems you can get a knocking engine for around £200/£300. Something I will be looking into for sure.

Or wait for a non-knocking engine like the one currently in my car?

Been following this thread as i'm going in the same direction at some point soon . Just wondering are the pistons and rods you've got from realstreetperformance 2.1 kit ? What makes a 2.1 different to a 2.0 kit is it rod length/crank or just over sized pistons? Also can i ask who is doing the build and for how much ?

I think you may find this interesting fella, going back a month or so ago with us trying to find info on the "2 line cams" from the sti heads.

Today i removed the cam cover on an engine to check the cams(basically to see if they had the 2 lines) as is the general census assciated with V3/V4 heads.

They didnt!

They were identical to the set i sold to a friend a few weeks ago( one central line) and identical to the other cams people have found in V3/V4 heads with under bucket shims.

Now i know for a fact that these heads came from version 4 type R because the guy who's heads they are removed them from his mates to type r to fit on his forged engine.

So...........IMO the "one line" 4in/4ex cams are actually V4 Type R heads as opposed to the "two line" V3 heads.

The oversized 92.5 pistons make it 2.1, the 79mm 257 (later model) crank is 4mm longer, therefore making it a "stroker".
I'll go into who will be building it at a later date, and although i'm trying to put prices on everything, i'll have to check the builder is fine with me posting the price. Although i think a lot of people will be contacting them.

Cool, was there any difference in profile between 3/4?

No worries ill keep an eye on things here then , real street seems very cheap!! just thinking are there many builders out there willing to build from parts they haven't supplied ? as think they might get the hump as not making as much out of the job .
