And the heads I've been looking for

The bottom end will be up for sale once I've given it a little clean. The paint flakes from the manifold are everywhere!.

Time to start taking the heads apart in preparation for them being skimmed etc. They had a bit of a wash so they weren't too grubby to do on the living room floor...

Now I just need to wait for the valve spring compressor to arrive, great parcel force dropping it off at my local post office, not so great they close at 1 on Wednesdays.
Once the VF24 and the Type R bottom end sell I can make some real progress.

Vice Versa for me

Not much, light skim, new seals, lap the valves in. Just waiting on the engine and turbo to sell so I can get the bottom end finished. I'll get the engine built then realise I don't have any brakes .

On another note where have people moved their boost solenoid bracket that sits on the driver side strut to?

Nice work bud
If you haven't sourced your gaskets and seals yet give luke @ importcarparts a bell with your wish list (as he gives you a better price for bulk buying over the phone) I got acls ,arps , block bolts ,3 bond ,new rollers/tensioner all the gaskets (except head gaskets) and a few other bits for just over £700 .

A bit of a result today. The previous owner of my Type R is moving this weekend and kindly dropped off the original exhaust system, on the agreement i take him for a spin once the engine is back in.

Not what I need right now, but I couldn't resist a bargain. 740cc injectors, billet rails and braided lines - £200.

Na I'm still bashing things with pointy objects lol. Like I said mate if you're in 2 minds about starting a project read a few on here, EMB's, Frayz's, JGM's or even the immaculate restoration we are all enjoying of "Silver scooby sports".

Or, watch the ultimate shed project.....

Looks good there

About the adapters, you should be able to make own adapters, something similar has we have on previous build,we bought rails for WRX and we are in later stages went with Spec C manifold and rails doesn't fit the Spec C manifold, but Neil@Slowboy racing has made for us adapters/spacer which allow us to fit those rails on the Spec C manifold

I'm pretty sure you will be able to do so or someone with CNC machine should be able to help you out

Thanks Jura
If I flip the rail upside down it lines up with 2 spots on the manifold legs. I'm going to try to drill and tap the holes and see if it holds....

Manifold all sprayed up, I'm undecided on the colour but have the original V4 manifold If i want to go in a different direction. These things are a bitch to strip and put back together.

I've decided not to go the parallel route right now. The rails are V1-2 and don't fit my manifold, and I tried to re-drill the manifold to fit the rails but the angle was too steep and I wasn't comfortable with only a few threads holding the rails on.

So if I keep the original manifold I can go from there but the rails and braided lines will go up for sale soon.

Yup, as said that's a V1-2 Manifold. I've got a spare V1-2 here (as well as a spare V3-4 lol) and they fit that fine. My brain just has too much going on at the moment. I think I'm going to have to do this in stages, IE go small to get the car back on the road and the car will be under-powered but then it needs to be really to run in. If it's under-powered then maybe I can hold off on the big brakes as I'm having to fit the standard exhaust system anyway for MOT purposes. If I hold off the big brakes, I won't need the big alloys.

Thanks for the link to those rails, if i could find a buyer for my rails and the 650cc injectors then I'd go for it.
I blew out the bike test, I've put a lot aside for this project. I passed my bike test 16 years ago .

Anyway, been busy on these also lol...
