its 400 bhp because i had it built to that and spent loads of money on it .and yes hopefully i do rite the car off then can buy a proper car and go on a proper forum where people help each other when a question is asked other than people trying to take the **** out of someone who doesnt know. unfortunatley i cant spend all day playing with my car and sitting on this forum so in the respect that one day u might have an question and then u will all be twiddling with ur single braincell and waiting for an answer good luck .... so instead of saying nothing or just saying cant help u all come out with a stupid comment and knowing the fact ur gonna be parents one day is a scary thought so thanks for nothing and **** u

Seriously do take it to heart! Im already a "responsible adult" with children incidentally and you are the very reason my and the rest of the "sensible" drivers out there insurance policies increase every year.
Theres nothing wrong with have a fast car and enjoying it but why not do it on a track where you can do it without the inherent risk to others and yourself. Your orginal question makes you come across as a total reprebate that has gone out and got himself a loan and has bought a fast motor just to take high risks to impress school girls.
As someone who has spent fortunes (by that I mean tens of thousands) on my cars and someone who is into driving I do it on a track where its safe, fun and enjoyable. I suggest you consider doing the same.
Happy sideways pal.

It's always best to read what it say's in there first, if it doesnt mention traction control then its a good idea that its not fitted, it does go on about AWD and its benefits, so its best not to ask too many silly questions without reading that little booklet
Oh and welcome to the forum

Man, people need to cut all this rubbish talk out, talk about reading between the lines. A simple genuine question and the poor guys gets all this, who cares if it had a meaning between the lines, people need to stop assuming.
I asked the same question actually when i was buying my first Impreza and i'm an entusiast.
Noones perfect, tell me you never speed, tell me you don't put the power down when you go around a corner to have a bit of fun.
Everyone is to blaim for insurance costs, whether it's a 17 year old or 70 year olds, everyones makes their own choices.
Thanks
Sam

It was a retarded question asked in a retarded manner. The guy has spent "lots of money" modifing his car yet is unaware that the theres not TC to turn off.
I get what your saying about 17 - 70 year old and the insurance - if Subaru only ever sold Imprezas to 70 year olds regardless at how **** they were at driving the impreza would be as cheap to insure for them as the suzuki swift there more than likley driving now. Retards doing powerslides round an island and ending up rolling onto the 15 yea rolds sat enjoying a big mac outside maccy ds is what causes inflated insurance premiums - fact.

Are you a saint, are you so perfect?
There could be so much to look at when talking about insurance, im no professional but for instance, statistics i believe show that most crashes involve younger people, but i would imagine this is inevitable, it's new to them/us, just like anything new there may be mistakes made whether idiotic or not.
Or for instance, i'm 24 and my parents are 59, i am on the road more than them. What if this is the case for most younger people, that makes the crash statistics more likely to be towards younger people.
Just recently i saw a 70+ year old on tele smash into an on coming car in his Impreza, he nearly killed 2 people and himself.
I'm not saying it's not younger people causing insurance premiums to go up, but statistics of young people crashing is good way to make some money.
More younger people probably learn to drive than older too, that also makes statistics more biased.
I'm not debating just about age, people make idiotic decisions and mistakes regardless of age through out their lifes.
Like i say noone is perfect, we all make mistakes, we all have asked "stupid" questions.
What i have said is all hypethetical in regards to insurance, i don't know the real truth and the reasoning behind it all, but you can read between lines of the OP, try read between the lines of insurance, it might be true, it might not be true, same goes for the OP as a person himself, you think he's a moron, i think he was just asking a question, he might be a real nice person.
Noone should take offence to anything anyone says on here for various reasons.
It may only be a select few who think you are an idiot, and for all we know, you could be the idiots always having to get your "im right words in and i'm perfect". A lot of people don't say anything, it's not a bad thing, i was one of them up till now, but i decided i wanted to speak up.
Other people just answer the question hassel free.
Besides we don't all know eachother in person, our own friends do things we don't like, but we still are friends with them, at least for me.
Untill we know the person properly, i don't think anyone should be assuming or judging people, and even then if you don't like them, why shout about it?
Thanks
Sam

Please don't think i'm arguing in a hostile way, i was simply just talking about the topic. I don't want any hostility between me and others even if it is only the internet.
My opinions on people is strictly based on knowing them in person and i am making no judgements and decisions based on anything that happens on here, on anyone.
I guess i should have not spoken in the first place
Thanks
Sam

LOL!!!
500 acre airfield.... Mmm yeah right!
To be honest your original post is something that a little jumped up chav would of posted!
The above about insurance statistics blah blah blah is irrelevant!
If you are trying that much and can't get the back end out on a 400bhp Scooby especially on your 500 acre open airfield you sir must be driving with your toes...!
Something tells me your 400bhp car is an eBay special job...

What proof have u got that I haven't got an airfield to play on and who said I haven't tried I have asked how do I disconnect the traction so think we have a reading issue here as well and it's not an eBay job it's called hard work pays off and lets be honest u can't comment and say I'm a Chav so not going to bother with this anymore it's pointless

I was thinking the same and a 24 year old with a scooby I do sense a mcdonalds car park not 500 acres and I'm not doubting you have spent upwards of at least 10k on a 400bhp WRX and having your engine built by a specialist and not knowing that your car doesn't have traction control how did you know what parts to put in your engine like pistons and turbo etc to use this baffles me and anyone going to get a custom engine built would have learnt about the car there building and read the handbook at least
I'm only 26 so only 2 years older than you and If I want to do silly things as all men want to do in cars I go on track days in a safe environment.
Speaking as a parent I see chav'd up idiots coming speeding round streets and crashing into everything and one day one will hit my daughter and idiots like that destroy lives and 9 times out of 10 its a young driver speeding showing off cutting corners and wheel spinning everywhere any acting like this should have there licence removed and inserted in them in a unpleasant manner and there car crushed.
As for comparing older drivers to young drivers older drivers don't go out with there car full of mates showing off if they crash it wasn't through stupidity opposed to a showing off kid driving like a prat.
You will only get a proper response on a forum full of enthusiasts if your questions are worded properly with some intelligence and not chav and immature.
Think before you speak well type

I'm also 26 with 2 kids and I know where ur coming from but this **** about mc ds car park I don't do same as I don't read through books and paid for the engine to be built I told them what I wanted I paid for it now it's sorted simPle enough I think and I'm not once saying about the car not having traction or having it I'm asking can it be disconnected and I don't think it would say that in the manual I don't give things like the manual a fought but obviously people that work in offices and geeks that wanna sit there and read a stupid ****ing manual is upto them but personally I would rather spend the time with my kids then read a manual in 20 different languages and still not have the answer I was looking for and. No I'm not a Chav who hangs around in car parks or speeds round corners I got enough money to do it properly so I will and I have nothing else to say apart from I'm just normal person who thinks before he speaks and I don't think I know everything about these cars that's y I asked the question hope it's settled it for all u wanna be Subaru inthusiasts so good luck and hope u all a ****ty future

I no forums are opinion based and everyone has different opinions and that but why all the hate on here latly makes me want to continue lurking as if I ask the wrong questions I might get flamed
the 2/3 most popular threads on here at this moment seem to me to be arguments
in my opinion you should move to a rwd car for sliding if thats what floats your boat
