I know. i am just about to start the pilgrim's way. dunno what to do. return the key and become guild master or keep the key for other nefarious reasons.
my lockpicking perk tree has no perks on it at the moment. At level 68 the levelups takes ages now and i dont want to waste what perks I have left on lockpicking.
good to know. am looking forward to black reach now (I think). a pickaxe is part of my standard inventory now. learned that way early on. having said that none of the mines I have mined have respawned any ore. i thought they did after about a month (game time). there are a load of iron ore mines and the Kloseggr mine has loads of gold seams in it.
also good to know though i have no shortage of scales and plate. was in winterhold last night and out of the blue (no handset vibration, no roar), a fecking big ancient dragon whumped right down in front of me. scared the bejesus out of me. having said that I dispatched the dragon with one swipe of the Daedric Battle Axe. quite surprised actually normally it takes a good 3 or four to wipe those puppies out.

I ran into a foresworn yesterday. My method of dispatch was to sneak to the room, open the door, use my Sanguine Rose, after 60 seconds I shot an arrow in to make sure there was no more hostile activity.

I haven't been doing even the side quests but just roaming around exploring and getting new places on my map to be able to jump straight to. Is this actually bad in terms of then doing quests in the game as I might be killing people required later on in quests? For example last night I went heading up out of Riverwood into the mountains, cleared the mine which netted me my second dragon upon leaving the mine, clearing Helgen of bandits and higher up from Helgen another place where I killed the bandit leader which gave me a nice load of loot and a treasure map (still to do the treasure map) so managed to take all my loot in numerous trips back to Whiterun and sell it all so up to about 5k gold after fully kitting my house out.
Now i've got some gold, my house sorted and some better armour/shield/sword i'm probably going to start the huge list of side quests I have piled up. Also if I buy a horse do they get killed easily and so have tokeep buying new ones at 1k gold each time? Also where does your horse go when you go into Whiterun for example? They automatically go into the stables at each keep? What about if you go to say Riverwood and go into a building where will the horse be when you come back out?

Level 33 now been heading to the grey beards since about level 19 but keep getting side tracked...fully fitted Breeze Home and a ton of magic items and three shouts but not too many dragons...do I need to follow the main quest lines to trigger them?

a briarheart no doubt with magic. freeze magic as well. it does health and stamina. did you not even get one hit in? I am level 68 and pretty much nothing in the game except dragons and end bosses eat into my health. pretty much one stroke of the battle axe wipes most if not all my opponents health out.

I've always found them to be random encounters.

I think I ballsed up at the start with my perks, I just clicked random sh1te, without realising what I was doing. Heavy Armour perk - never use it heavy armour; it's not the best for sneaking in.
Bit far in to start over though, hit level 50 last night. Might have to start over at some point to sort out glitches, I can't get the quest to start to rid my character of being a Werewolf, and it appears that my character married a bloke. Either that or she is one hell of an ugly bitch!

Be wary about killing named people, as you may need them later.

I figured out earlier when I accidentally went into 3rd person mode that I was not wearing any clothes. I took my armour off to do a sub quest in solitude and forgot to put them back on.

you know you can go to the greybreards in the throat of the world and they will give you the locations of all the shout walls
I read up a bit before I started Skyrim. perks for smithing, enchantment, alchemy and 2 handed were my priority. I used the level ups I got for speech, conjuration, illusion, pickpocketing, sneaking etc. to fill these perk trees with what I was concentrating on. obviously for the two handed perk tree I only use a battle axe so I didn't waste the perks on other two handed weapons like great sword or battle hammer.
same thing happened to me after the embassy quest. I escaped the embassy through the trapdoor, dressed in my party clothes and I had to fight off three bandits as well as an Ancient Fire Dragon. oh I also had to keep the prisoner alive as well. it was touch and go for a while. did two of the bandits with long range arrows. had to do the dragon 1 daedric arrow at a time, used heal a lot, until he whumped down on the path before me. one final heal before i dispatched him with the battleaxe.
In all I have been playing pretty much since 6 January, so I would say, between 250 and 300 hours I have had a few days off mind you. I can't finish off the Thieves Guild storyline as I don't really want to give up the skeleton key. Also that Twilight Supulchur is a complete barsteward to complete. The Pilgrims Path where you just burn up pretty much instantly, even staying in the shadows, is really starting to p1ss me off. Has anyone completed this? Can I get some advice? Ta muchly

well i now have the Master spells for alteration and conjuration after completing two side quests for the mages in Winterhold. the problem is i don't have enough magic to cast them. i only have 10 perks left and to get the "master spells cast for 50% less" it is at least 5 perks each on the relevant trees. oh well i suppose i could enchant 4 items to reduce the cost of these spells by 25% each thereby making the spell nil to cast.
the "storm thrall" costs 712 to cast my magic is at 340 i do like the conjure dremora lord. he seem to be one badass. i set him loose among a load of Draugr and he wiped them all out, even the Draugr Dethlord. I just stood back and watched the carnage.
