Quick shift wasnt standard, just dont confuse quick shift with close ratio as they are 2 different things.

Can`t test the Impreza on those rolling machines for brakes due to being AWD. If they do that the box will go bang!!

Actually I will explain the difference before you ask
Quick shift gear lever reduces the distance between the length of the gear change, meaning you get a closer feel and quicker gear change.
Close ratio box is where the gearing is reduced for accelleration, you lose top end speed but it keeps the engine on the boil better.
For example, a type R gearbox hits 8k in 5th at approximately 155mph, a UK turbo hits 167mph at 7k in 5th.

Close Ratio lol.

Ratio is what your on about.

I have a close ratio gearbox, AND a quick shift, so gear lever throw is small (quick shift), and ratios are great for driving (close ratio box), although could do with a 6th gear for motorways.

They test the brakes on the road with a little device in the footwell.

And they dont weigh cars during an MOT.
