Chancer Tries to Get Free Train Ride
#31
The big guy asked the conductor if he should get him off. The conductor said yes. I'd imagine on his training on how to deal with problem passengers whis isn't the correct way to do things.
If he threw him onto the platform and injured him, who do you think would be getting the letter from the "No win, no fee" *****?
If a passenger refuses to leave a train, the only people that the conductor should be asking to remove him should be BTP.
No, I don't like it or think this is how it should be, but you need to protect yourself and your job.
I work on the railway, so therefore know what ***** passengers can be, and also what they could pull out of their pocket and start waving around..

Vigilante or Guardian Angel?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...-fife-16143909
Seems no good deed goes unpunished?
Something going on behind the scenes, likely some physical abuse charge or similar...

Vigilante.
Should be at least common assault.
What ever the kid did (or didn't do) the 'big guy' shouldn't just man handle him off the train.
Had the lad started hitting anyone, then Guardian Angel.
I actually listened to this on Radio 2 today. It had eye-witness reports and everything

Absolutely. As he didn't, and obviously had no concern for the hassle he was causing others, then he got what he deserved. The more people that did this the better this country would be as these little ***** would see they couldn't push people around with no comeback.

One says he had the ticket, the other says he was sold the same ticket twice,
He's a tw@t and and deserved it being thrown off, though landing on his face was most likely unintentional.

From all the details around so far, I doubt that.
Time will tell though.
From here: http://www.police-information.co.uk/...nindexsco.html
If this is classed as assault, is it likely that in this case it could be justified? The passengers on the train are surely only allowed to be there under certain conditions laid out by the company who own it - i.e. when they have a ticket. I could be wrong, but, from how much we actually know from the media so far, it doesn't seem like the guy had any right to be there. So surely he could be removed legally by a member of the public? The 'vigilante's' intent was only to remove him from the train and prevent him from getting back on.

Assault
Source: Common Law
Offence: To direct an attack to take effect physically on the person of another, whether or not actual injury is inflicted.
Arrest: Common law power of arrest.
Notes:
There must be criminal intent, an accidental injury does not amount to assault. It is not however necessary that the attack should take effect. An assault can be direct or indirect, e.g. setting a dog at another person. It is also assault to be violently menacing. Threatening gestures inducing a state of bodily fear are an example. An assault may be aggravated by intent; mode of perpetration (e.g. use of a weapon), extent of injury, place of assault, or the character of the person assaulted (e.g. a pregnant woman). Indecent assault is an assault accompanied by indecent intent. In certain cases an assault may be justified by showing that it was done under the authority of the law; in defence of others or in self-defence.

Perhaps if people in society were not so quick to jump into filming everything on phones then this would never have escaleted to the press and become an issue the police need to look into? Seems that everything that happends is filmed these days and people are more keen to stand back let it all kick off then post it on youtube.
If it was never filmed then its a case of a passenger throws a cheeky youth from a train for not paying and helping out the conductor and fellow passengers, now its filmed its a big debate about whether the culprit has indeed been unfairly handled, assulted and can he get some compensation from it.
His attitude towards the conductor was poor as was the language and conduct, not much remose shown on his FB when acting the 'star' and being applauded by the rest of his feckless friends - could be said he got what he deserved? Shocking his parents are standing up for him rather than being embarassed by the whole situation and giving him a clip round the lug.

Big Man should get a medal. He is a true hero. Thing is, too many kids think they can do what they like as the law is such an *** in this Country. More people like Big Man are needed. I think he is great

His Dad
"This man has to be charged and have his day in court. He had no right to do what he did. If I was him, I'd expect to be charged."

The kid was being a cocky, mouthy little gob****e and acting up against an old man.
The big guy used minimum force in removing him from the train..... The kid should now show some humility and class and apologise for his actions. Frankly, his dad should be doing a big man part two and frog marching his son to the poilice station to apologise!

The kid posted about the video laughing on his Facebook page before it became popular, now he is all upset, probably because the world knows he is a BAMP!

He should just take it like a man and move on. His dad is only out to get back at the 'big man' because his son was humiliated in front of the world on YouTube.

See your point Sandy but perhaps in future it will act as a kind of deterrent to this kind of thing, the possibility of being filmed whilst having a little hissy fit ont he train and it being posted for the judge and jury that is Youtube may sink in, at the moment there are a lot of people realising this as millions of people see their actions, like this little scumbag, racist train woman and cat bin woman they are pioneers for trial by Youtube and I thinkits a good thing, I don't think "the Big Man" has come off badly but the weasly little **** looks like a right whining little bitch and really the fear of some kind of prosecution is minimal, I suspect the gobby little turd self inflicted the pathetic graze on the face for sympathy.
Most of the population now have a video camera in their pocket, this has never happened until the last couple of years but now due to wide adoption and the cameras actually being useful we have a nation ready and willing to video anything, the chances of doing something untoward and their not being a camera in the vicinity are low, so if you want to be villified on Youtube the proceed with your foul mouthed rant at an old chap doing his job but don't bitch when you get some feedback.
