Thanks Archie and yes the engine mounts are very strong without doubt and coupled with that TRS gearbox mount should eliminate as much movement as possible without solid mounting.

Brilliant, cheers for that. I was looking at the Hardrace/Megan set-ups but had seen these knocking around on the 'bay'. Off to buy myself another Christmas present then

 

I previously used the hardrace ones and I had no issues with them at all I just wanted something stiffer without going to solid mounts. Depends what you want and what you use the car for.

 

Couple more bits showed up today,rear subframe/front strut brace outer pieces and rear tie bar brackets from powder coaters.
Lateral performance 76mm custom inlet pipe with no outlets in amazing condition,thanks Braveheart

Few more goodies turned up today thanks to Ross for going and fetching them from Alex@Torques UK
an3 braided/sleeved hose with stainless fittings for the rear brake lines and some anodised unions for my boost solenoid


Perrin PSRS rear wishbone bushes

Forge header tank came back with Ross after Matt had welded on some an unions[big thanks mate,great work as per usual]
an4 for line back to top of radiator and an6 for line coming off turbo


New genuine top and bottom hose clamps courtesy of Rossy boy.thanks mate

Also a couple more parts from the coater,top off the wiper motor and the arms from my cusco triangle brace in the boot.




Need to give a big shout out to Ross for coming over today and stripping my BC coilovers so I could take the springs and header tank down for powder coating,your a star chap:ncool:

Love the header tank, wish i did that before getting mine powder coated.

All these nice shiny parts - its like Xmas every week for you

Got the shell onto the ramp so I could get the underside stone chipped and painted ready to start installing parts to it.
Now this is done I can put the braided brake lines onto the rear but I'm still waiting on some p-clips to land to retain them.
I put some nut-serts into the chassis ready to retain them before stone guard.
Riv-nuts with etch applied


Next it was time to tape up and apply some sealer on the join between floor and chassis


Then it was time for some stone guard,I opted for this over the complete rear end to help with sound deadening as I had intended to just paint it without stone guard.




Finally I applied a coat of 2K direct gloss black paint to give it some shine

 

Schutz?

 

No Cliff it's stone guard,body Schutz is a coating that never really dries which is also a good coating but you can't really paint over it as it stays to soft and if touched will take the paint off.

 

Today almost saw the end of the project after an accident with the shell in the workshop which I will say no more than it resulted in me crushing my finger and caused me more bodywork to do on the shell and at that point I truly felt like chucking the towel in,but after a chat with a couple of close friends and given some sound advice I'm thinking other wise so I'd like to take this opportunity to thank them both[you know who you are]

After the mornings madness I decided late afternoon to do a few bits to put me fully back on track,I got the underside of the fuel tank stone guarded and painted along with fitting the breather/roll over valve in the take off plate.
Also got the wiper motor tidied up.

You know what they say mate, no pain, no gain - I'm sure it will be even better.

I know the frustrations you feel as I have a dinted roof, cracked splitter and gouge in the bonnet and all within a year of you finishing mine (not to mention the chipped wheels and binding brakes - still). I often wonder how much she'll be worth in bits. I also got a whiff of burning tonight which I cannot trace and I'm hoping I was just riding the clutch coming off the drive but there was smoke

But don't worry, these things are sent to test us and out mettle will come through in the end, so I need to get my vent painted in the New Year
