So using F1's logic. Android is rubbish.

 

Apple decided not to support Flash. Ultimately Adobe have announced they will no longer develop Flash players for mobile devices. Ergo the reason Adobe decided this was because of Apple. Simple logic that I am sure even you can undertsand with or wthout your Apple blinkers on.

To simplify even further right now Flash will work on all devices except IOS ... that is Apple's decision and means people like me have hjad to go looking elsewhere to try and find a format to work on all platforms.

The point is up until Apple's real clever decision we had a format that would play on all devices and all browsers. Now we don't. That is solely down to Apple! I have no problem killing off Flash if we have a reliable replacement and with Google about to drop H264 support from Chrome (because Apple amongst others want to start charging for it) that situation is about to get worse.

 

Doesn't play on Android amazingly but I bet that is an issue with the embedded player on the page... what is the raw format?... only just seen it so haven't had chance to capture it with Ethereal as yet.

Also doesn't play in IE6 (8% market share) or early iPod Touch and I'm guessing here probably early iPhone.

Edit: OK have Ethereal'd it now. It is serving out different formats depending on the platform.... a la YouTube. So ... well... fail I guess!!! Raw video feed plays on Android too, the Vimeo player is not working for Android.

 

But less rubbish than IOS

Every year there is some new Samsung modle coming out while IPhones been out for years and is still what everyone wants to own

 

Because it was an empty victory. Apple wanted to ban HTC from selling in the USA, but only succeeded in getting one very minor patent against HTC's 3 year old phones. HTC have already made the minor tweek.

So apple have nothing to crow about

 

Who gives a crap about all this patent stuff really? Except the apple haters who get some perverse kick out of it.
Personally I'm bored of it all and think its about time all the companies get back to designing new and innovative products so things can move forward, or rather apple need to get on with it so everyone else can copy
