However Apple has fallen foul of its own pettyness by incorperating someone elses technology into its device and not paying royalities on the technology.
I have no idea who you are Jack and TBH I really don't care but it seems you are nothing but a troll, either that or you really believe the BS you spout about the mark you so definetively defend. Maybe at the begining it was funny but now you are just a sad little man and everyone apart from you and your handfull of deciples sees it.
Also just out of curiosity what were you doing in Bagdad 23 years ago?
ha ha, all this is insane. I'm an apple fan, so what? my mate is android user - again so what, aslong as it does what you personally need who cares, I just like the way the apple stuff works & how reliable its all been for me.
really!?
ios system, internet, texting, emails, amazing amount of apps, docks etc like my home audio surround system i have a yamaha dock so my yamaha amp controls the phone for the tunes etc & charges it, wireless sync, icloud so all pics (or whatever else) is put on each ios device thats all from off top of my head.

but in all seriousness, it does what i need it to do, like people who like android phones, they just do. I do not understand why people have such an issue, its only a phone or tablet etc, you just buy which you like, think its a bit weird why people have to go on about how they have 'issues' or hatred towards certain companies like apple.

I know people on other forums who will say windows phones are best, for me I prefer iOS having owned a galaxy s2 which is probably the best android has to offer, I went to an iPhone 4 instead as it suits me better.
Well Ihave a Desire and an iPhone4 in front of me for testing purposes and things I have noticed are;
The wi-fi sometimes takes about 15 seconds to re-engage on the iPhone, instant on the Desire.
The Desire has a file system I can access just by connecting it to a computer and can then copy files .... the Iphone makes me jump through hoops.
The Desire plays all MP4s I have come across... the iPhone does not.
The Desire plays WMV files.... the iPhone does not
The iPhone slider doesn't always work especially on incoming calls.
The Desire is better to hold (IMO) and doesn't drop its signal when not in a case.
The Desire plays Flash.... the iPhone does not
The iPhone does have Facetime which is very clever and very good, not seen anything similar on the Desire
The Desire seems better on battery life, but I think the iPhone4s has addressed that.
They are both good devices, but the Apple offering seems very restrictive to me.... which of course may have its advantages malware wise etc. but I like the Desire's ease of use. You can just make it do the simple things you would expect it to... the iPhone is fine if you think the Apple way I guess.... sadly I don't.

i see what your saying F1 fan, but you are supposed to use the iphone & other i devices with itunes own music/videos etc which have no issues ....... android stuff is more like a computer why its 'easier' for people to do the wmvs and mp4 stuff etc. swing & round abouts i reckon. Will let you know about the battery life of the iphone 4s when its delivered to me in the next few days

Not exactly a glowing reference for what is supposedly the best iPhone ever or the best smartphone on the market is it?
you seem to like android style, who gives a flying **** about apple this or android that, getting daft why people keep banging on about it something you dont own/like? i have one & like it but do not go on about how i dislike android style, kinda daft arguement, you just buy what you personally like. its only a company, if you dont like it, dont buy it & get on playing with your own

all this apple does not do this apple does not do that is kinda
if they are as bad as people say, why are they selling, why buy them? an no its not some sarky answer to that implied question, its because it suits that particuler persons needs.

'Oh, you have to buy another Apple product for this or that to work properly.'

All you are doing is digging yourself into a hole my friend.
Why do people buy Apple? Because if you are happy to use the world of iTunes/Mac etc. and be restricted by a tech company's rules and regulations then fine.... oh that and world class marketing of course.

F1_fan, clearly you are happy with the desire, I had a desire hd and it was ok as a device I don't agree it's a nicer handset to hold than the iPhone but again it's personal preference, I changed that for a galaxy s2 which IMO makes the desire seem very slow in comparison, you should get one.
As for why I moved to apple, apart from the iTunes which I mentioned earlier I also have an iPad now which I bought before the iPhone and I love the syncronisation between the two via iCloud, for me android could not match that even if I had bought the galaxy tab to go with the s2.
I now have my iPhone for when I'm out and my iPad at home and I know I can access the same content on both without having to think about the mechanics behind it, it just works and that's why I moved to apple.

The Desire had no problem transferring fles to/from a computer, plays all media formats and generally just works. The iPhone in comparison either doesn't do some of the things the Desire can do in this area or is a pain in the **** and for no good reason.
That is nothing to do with perosnal choice and everything to do with the devices' capabilities.
It's all subjective though if you ask snazzy he will tell you blackberry is best as that suits his needs.
