That is why o advocate non fault repair companies when some one hits you, obs this isn't the case here though. Time wise depends how busy the ins shop is usually, once the car is collected an estimated will look at the car, may need some stripping, then pics and electronic email will be sent to the ins engineer and then usually after 2-3 days it is authorised then parts can be ordered so call that two days, the repair itself is around a 3-4 day repair. Then build up and pickup or dropped back off and the excess and sat note signed on delivery, this is were if anything is wrong you don't sign. I would say knowing ins it may not be back for two/three weeks but hopefully I'm wrong, are they supplying a courtesy car?

Plus we are all forgetting the third party he hit will need to make a claim so there is zero advantage to him doing it himself as there is going to be a claim against him for this one way or the other!

I hope it doesn't go up to much, but even if it does, the scooby is not going anywhere. I just love it way way to much.
Just that this has slowed down the mods a bit. I could of used the money on fitting the bits I have rather than paying my excess.
Oh well, never mind. I'm ok and the car can be repaired and there will be no stone chips on the front.

I have the reg of the car that was on the wrong side of the road and caused myself and the car in front to break hard and then of course to course the accident. And then dud not stop. Going to pass it on to my ins, company as soon as they open. Will this help? I do have legal cover on my ins as well so won't cost me nothing to fight my case.

drove off before i got there but did get reg no
cracked the bumper so i went to police station reported it and informed my insurance.
To the police's credit they did track car down and get in touch with owner who of course denied it and as no witnesses could do nothing.
so ended up repairing myself so as not to claim.

Just make sure you arrange the courtesy car through your insurance. I asked for a car off the garage who were fixing mine and ended up with a hire car which I thought was a courtesy car. The bill came to £10k for the month it took to fix !!! It went to court and with expenses it came to nearly £20k. Luckily I was covered for this but it's another reason why insurance goes up every year. Oh and the garage stole my footrest and satnav, they reckon they looked at the ccv footage and nothing showed up, but someone took them while it was away.
