Yesterday, the build has officially begun: the car is delivered to Jeroentje.nl Tuning who is going to strip and delete nearly everything (even heater etc), install a cage and other necessary ancillaries such as fire extinguisher, kill switch etc. But first, he will remove the engine and bring it to EMS (company responsible for 2.35 build) so they can work further on it (install intake, heads, etc). I just cant wait...

There are some other updates too: As you might have read, I bought a 6spd box a few months ago, but the thing is, it was still mounted on a car when I bought it. A few days ago, I received an email from EMS: Surprise, the box has DCCD installed, but we never knew it, since it was never connected. Aint that cool? Bad *** drifts are coming!

I am also going to put some wide rims/tyres under it to get better grip, I am thinking of 18x9.75 XXR527 rims with 275 R888 (Yup, we'll need some arch extensions!). Or do you think it will be an overkill? There will be enough power though...

Finally, here is the cage design:

P.S. can one of the mods adjust the title of my topic? The bedtime story thing is disturbing...

Awesome update!
Tomorrow we are going to pick some some beaut'!

And just to justify my decision (so you wont think that I throw with money without thinking): I need a cage for TA, and it would cost me €1900 (only the cage, ex additional labour)... this body has: 22B bumpers, fiberglass panels, cage, licence plate and its a 2-(non dented)door... I could take it for... wait for it.... €2250! I can even make my own Impreza stock again and sell it.

Some updates:

Made some renderings in Forza 4, dont mind every single detail
Server was down during second version, thats why we had to use mopho.

Second version (22B bumpers, another spoiler, golden rims, edited decals)

Further development:

Making space for 285/18:

Finishing the firewall:

Have you weighed an alloy bonnet against the Seibon one?

I think you'll be surprised.

The alloy one weights 1 kg less than Seibon. This one was a "price because its you" and it already has the right vents. Will do for now

Looks great

One thing i would be cautious of is running a 2 bolt up pipe at the power you're going to be running. Opt for a 3 bolt if you can

Syvecs ECU?

I'm suprised you haven't gone for double springs.

You should have also gone for a Billet 35R.

This car has sooooo much potential should be awesome when its finished.

Syvecs indeed.
Double springs... hmm.. I'll ask about that.
We can upgrade to billet afterwards, if necessary.
I think we should get somewhere round 700 bhp on E85...

If this baby will make me Dutch TA champ, that is going to be my lottery win.

Good work mate- love it! Always remember to keep up the driver training too- my car is getting no power hikes until I can drive it quicker!

get a lift and advice from every motorsport linked person you can, preferably in car. My rally friend took me out in mine last night- Im already faster on certain corners than 24hours ago!

Enjoy

Check the first post, I already had a "racing driver course", but I will get additional support from various racing drivers when this baby will hit the track too.

Again some updates:

Some progress we made for the past few days:

Placed steering rack:

Put on wheels:

How it was before (we used the same old shocks on the new one):

Welded antenna hole

Modified the trunk (spare wheel)

Space for diffusor:

Fixed the front bumper, this one was messed up by the previous owner:

Got new rims (Rota Torque Bronze 18x9.5)

Old vs New:

Lugnuts:

Rims fitted:

Received some box too, I wonder what it contains...

Another box!

Seems legit...

Unwrapping...

Still not there..

Finally!

Some fitting:

We are going to make another higher "feet" ourselves, because we find these not high enough.

Finished the trunk bottom:

Some cosmetic adjustments:

Made a bracket for the rear bumper:

Looking really good and coming along quickly, only downside to projects like this is seeing this little extras that I should have done to mine before I had it painted

Todays update: huge *** wheels and some other stuff.

First of all, the comparison of new vs old:

They look a lot bigger IRL actually!

Pics of them wheels mounted:

The panels needed some adjustments, maestro taking care of it:

Something else, the loom is almost ready:

Fitted the seat:

And finally, I received a package today with a misspelled name.

Luckily it was no cat food but a Zeitronix E85 controller!

Unfortunately we're getting a bit off schedule now (We wanted to bring her to the paintshop tomorrow, but we need some extra time for additional adjustments + fiberglass doors still have not arrived yet.
