when I spoke to a mishimoto representative at a car show the other weekend they told me that the oem tray will be fine but to see a better flow, use an sti one. But looking at the shapes of both trays they are different.

Blast from the past.
Glad I never did any of it tbh, car was very reliable with just PPP and didn't cost me anything beyond general service items... was also plenty quick enough once the handling was sorted.
