I don't think it was particularly due to the old boys network but the dealer and IM were only 30 mes apart so easier to get ECU flash done there than sending it by post.

I took spare keys. Like the good old days. But key reprogramming not needed nowadays. IIRC

i also dont why the dealer cant fit your exhaust and you drive carefully to Im for a flash.

Unless the exhaust puts a very different enviroment on the car, id say careful driving should suffice.
but thats if Im will do you it.

They may not want loads rolling up to their doors

 

Thanks for the replies - I'm in Yorkshire so I'm not quite on IM's doorstep but if it was only a day off work for the trip south and leave the car for another day at the dealer (and try to scrounge a courtesy car) for the exhaust stuff rather than messing around with alternative transport for 5 days then it might be an option...

Could always try to drop it off if I go to Autosport for the day and pick it up that night

I'm sure if you do it through Crossroads and book it in advance they can do everything in a day which should help your predicament!

 

I've taken the plunge and bought a 320r saloon,sold my 340 hawk sti.
I think the 320 is a nice drive and very pleased with it.

I'm after a set of mud flaps asap if anybody can point me in the right direction

also thinking of a front splitter

then hopefully the 340 upgrade ;

i've seen the HT auto splitters and i think they look a good fit,

there are mudflaps on ebay claiming to fit the new saloon but i'm

not sure on that,

I've got the pioneer 920 bt model fitted but find the radio reception

poor ,any ideas anybody ?

any other tips for me regarding the car would be appreciated

"If" they do they will be a pretty poor fit.
Subaru have decided not to do flaps for the new saloon.

Rally Armor ones are expensive but include all the necessary bracketry for a good fit.

If you have the 920BT (upgrade from standard 320R 320BT), I'm surprised you have poor radio reception. Even using a Perrin 3" stubby aerial I find the reception good.
Maybe something to do with the Welsh valleys
If it's really poor then maybe the aerial hasn't been connected correctly with the TMC unit and SatNav.
Do most of the steering wheel controls work?

Hi Sniff, when i got mine over a year ago it was drinking 30w 5 Helix, stanjdard subaru stuff i think. on my first service it changed to 40w 10 Shell helix, i keep checking it and its not really drunk a drop since service which is good.

Did you buy your car new or with a few K on it, as im surprised you have the 920BT as its now the 930BT, so im presuming its an xdemo or sorts ?

I have the 930BT sent to me by IM group and fitted myself, i find the radio reception ok, but i do admit i have had a few bowts of hissy ness in chesterfield when im working.

I do have a question though, Don may know LOL if you take a call on it how do you MUTE the audio to the phone other than use the mute on the phone, is there a shortcut on the stereo as im unable to find it in the manual or settings.

Check the wiring to the headunit. It is possible that the dealer has not connected the power source to the signal booster. From memory i think it is a pink/red wire which says either remote or ignition on it?

 

In this case its blue/white...................

 

Is that a Subaru booster on the Aerial or a booster built inside the Pioneer unit??

Would think he's referring to the Subaru Amplifier (as fitted to most subarus) which is powered from the auto aerial feed when using an after market head unit..........

 

my car was registered in january 2011 to a subaru dealer so it was either a demo or manager/director car,it's only covered 2600mls

it had the 320 upgrade and they fitted the 920bt,
i'll have to check the radio connections,the blue/white lead may be disconnected,

i find the radio station signals are weak and lose connection quite easily
some weekend investigation ahead

it's had its first service and subaru used magnatec pro oil
also had a pro-r air filter fitted
could really do with the 340 upgrade

 

when you take it out also take out the lower vents it helps when your stuffing the wires back in

 

Do you mean the ducting? I have thought about removing mine, but it doesn't look like they will pop back in easily?

 

Once you have the A/V panel off complete with the vents you are left with the thin flexible plastic trunking section under the SatNav/Radio.

This pops out quite easily as it is only a push fit into the ducting either side and gives you a lot more room to organise the wiring behind and below it.

The only thing to worry about is getting it on the two guide pins as you refit it.

 

I can't be 4rsed to do it myself, so will wait for mine to be serviced and get the Pulse cable connected I've got a creaking passengers side dashboard which is becoming annoying
