I got a bit of change from £700, but it is a fantastic bit of kit, I was upgrading from a WRX one, as my car is only a WRX
The Sti ones are very good too, much better value for your money than the Hyperflow
Harvey is doing some very good front mount intercoolers.

Hi Dan, I had to turn the strut brace round as there was not enough room at the back of the intercoler, when I turned it round I welded an aly wind deflector to the brace and fitted 2 water spray points to the deflector. there is a rubber strip to the rear of the intercooler, then on the underside of the bonnet there area aly angle pieces with rubber strips that are a good fit over the strut brace and make a good seal round the intercooler.
And if you look at the bonnet scoop it is a bit larger than the std ones.

every one goes front mount.
I was seeing what could be got out of a top mount, at this point in time I am only running 1.5 bar to get my power, car is getting mapped again over the winter to 1.8bar And I think I might have a bit of Noz, wanting to get it to 560bhp without the Noz and maybe 650bhp with the Noz, still on this topmount.

Thanks Bez, good info there and a nice bit of ingenuity working with the strut brace like that.

Out of interest, have you any idea how the Hyperflow compares to the STi TMIC, as (visually anyway) it doesn't seem to be a great deal bigger.

Thanks .

The hyperflow is far deeper from top to bottom than the Sti one,and just a small amout larger front to back, but can only run just a bit more power, Subaru for a std part got the STi top mount spot on.

Wow, now this is getting way technical. If you guys were to put together a shipping list on a budget for an initial wrx remap what would you suggest upgrading before hand (add values if you can)

Braking has already been sorted so that's one headache out of the way

starter 1, decat, panel filter, fuel pump and map

next, turbo, injectors, front mount, cold air induction, map

after that gets expensive

+1 and once you start making big power you need really deep pockets

I remember when I 1st got my scoob, a std hawkeye wrx, And god was I impressed with it, I think we forget some times, these cars going right back to 1993 when you could buy turbo impreza's, they all have over 200 BHP and they were all fast and still are, but we get used to them, this does not mean they are slow, it just means we want them to be faster. So we can get that fix we had when we 1st got one, then before you know it you are hooked on going faster and faster, and nothing else matter.

Be careful you do not loose control of the modifying, some times its too late, before you realise you are in to deep.

Well done for sorting your brakes out, a fantastic mod.

I've got an sti top mount and a 20g turbo on my hawk running 378bhp and 410lbs with no lag. Standard internals and 5 speed box so I'm on the limit.

On the limit. You have done very well there bud. But with that power you do know it's going to go bang soon. Both engine & gearbox. But I can imagine what fun your having with it. With that set up the 2.5 are very good for no lag
