Wow, I can't believe how many of you have famous 'friends' lol!!
Ever thought they just accept your friend request to make it look as though they have loads of friends??
Lets be honest, how many people actually have more than about 30 people max that are actual 'friends'?? I had over 300 people on my facebook a while ago, then culled everyone that I hadn't spoken to or seen for years, or who I actually disliked (which was a lot when I took a closer look). I ended up with about 70 odd, of which I would say only about 20 - 25 are proper friends, and the rest just hotties that I like to check out every now and then (like most normal red-blooded males do, even though you probably won't admit it lol).

Depends what people class as famous, I suppose.
SN for example.
I'm FB friends with Asif, Trout, Lee247, Lisawrx, Jamo, Bubba po, Swiss Tony, DCI, Sarasquares, AND Astraboy! To mention just a few.
Just out of the above, I've not met Astraboy, Jamo or DCI, and other that Trout, I've drank with the rest of them and more, I even went to Swiss's wedding.
Away from SN, still depends on what people class as famous. For example, a DJ that is famous to fans of the genre, will be probably be unknown to people who don't like the music they play.

I've been on FB for only a little while now. I was originally cajoled into joining it, reluctantly. However, I am very glad I did.
I found a load of genuine old friends, who I had been missing (from the days of before the internet! )
As far as famous people, there is one of the Worlds most famous and recognisable journalists, an MP, an actor from the forthcoming new Batman movie, a girl who shagged the actor who played Brad Pitts cousin in Troy, and a BBC TV presenter. All people I know personally, met, drank with, etc.
I have less than 200 FB friends but a lot of those do include work friends from the numerous places I have worked at. A lot of them I socialised with loads and are genuine friends. How much do I see them today though...?
Some, like from where I am now, I do not socialise with that much (as I live so far away/family commitments and so on), so I have allowed myself to 'go with the flow' on those but will probably reduce those once I leave this workplace. I have currently put a stop to new friends from where I am today as it is getting too much, plus I see them every day anyway!
My old school has a seemingly huge group on FB, so I have connected with quite a few school friends, from 20 to 30 years ago.
A lot of my friends have moved abroad, so great to have quick catch ups with them. I also travel extensively, so a great way to keep in touch with many people from all over. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Oh and not forgetting some very famous SNetters!

I see it as a good way to reduce the business card folder, as a lot of people just 'link' on there.
Again, no problem with Networking. I believe that you get out what you put into it anyway.

If they're from the Trance / Progressive spectrum try me, I've got a few on there. Not personal friends (well most aren't) but contacts I speak to about choons etc. sometimes.
Lol I got name dropped to my brother whilst raving in Leeds Friday night - felt quite important for 5 minutes

Rusko, made quite a few appearances on Radio 1 and big in the world of dubstep.
It's funny, he turned out to be my cousin but his side of the family weren't in touch after his mum and my uncle broke up. My mum told me a couple years ago and i said " What?! yeah i know who he is, i been listening to his essential mix he did for radio 1 for past year and talking about this guy with my mates!!"

Closest I've got is an ex F1 drivers son on mine and that's because we've been mates since school He is genuinely mates with Mark Webber etc so does that count?
I've not added his dad because although I know his dad I don't know him that well, I've chatted with him on facebook though
