That's a nice transformation! It looked horrible before. What was the procedure used for that?

Cheers

I used Poorboys SSR1.0 & 2.0 with a yellow Sonus Pad on my Porter Cable 7424....she came out a treat

Personally I wouldn't let them near your car to try and get it out

Sadly I don't have any of that gear myself and if I was to go and buy it I'd end up out of pocket due to their mistakes.

I think I'm going to have to wait for them to turn up and see what they turn up armed with and if I'm not happy I won't let them near it

They came with the right gear and still f*cked it up He burnt the paint and now it needs a respray. It turns out the scratches were too deep and I kept trying to tell him that but he kept going until he'd gone through the paint

Tell me about it, I am gutted The guy that came out said their insurance wouldn't cover it??? but they have a mate who works in a paint shop that will do it as a private job and that I had to pop up to their shop to see the boss to discuss it.

I went up to the shop about 10 minutes after he left and by the time I got there the 2 guys were back and as I approached I heard the guy that attempted the repair saying "chips and scratches everywhere, tell him to f*ck off"

Now I was a bit surprised by this action and how they have handled events this afternoon and the boss said to me that they can't call this bodyshop guy now because he is working and they'll have to call him tonight. I have a horrible nasty feeling they have caused all of this damage and they are going to tell me to f*ck off I am now trying to get hold of Moley to see what he can tell me because I am seriously unhappy about what happened, what they did to recover the situation and then hearing the guy telling his boss to tell me to f*ck off because of the scratches they put there!!! There were 2 scratches on that wing I owned up to them, that's not scratches and chips everywhere.

Sorry for the rant but I am very p!ssed off at what has happened here.

no offence but that looks an easy fit .....some hard polish, follow by medium polish compound and then very fine polish compound, then wax and paint sealant , job done

I guess you aren't talking about the after photos? I thought it was going to be easy and it wasn't for them. Wish they had never come into my road TBH

Can't get hold of Moley yet Stu

Not quite as easy as that Single stage paint needs tlc, you can't just polish it without knowing the depth etc. true of all paint but moreso in this case

Thanks mate but I think the wing needs painting now because it's gone through the paint and it's got a dark patch now where he was too aggressive with the compound. He even admitted that he should have been using a mop!

I really really should have told them to leave it alone and even when I did he didn't stop

That is such an **** job there paul. You should have just asked and I could have popped over there at the weekend with my stuff and sorted it. Nice gentle work and it should have been fine. That tool has just gone hell for leather at it and now burnt through.

Dont let them get away with it and get an estimate for the work to repair it and then confront them with it

Just reading about your car mate. Def don't like get away with it, shows what sort of company they are if they deal with problems like this. Things like this just make me want to flip. No respect and don't even want to pay up for something they admit i'm sure if it was the other way round it would be a different story. Something similar happened to me with an internet company and got spoken to like s*&^ on the phone by them. So went to their headquarters. Took me 3 hours there and back but it was worth it to see their faces.

As I say feel for you, will be following this to see how it turns out.
Good luck

I'd be reporting them to Watchdog or another similar outfit. Wouldn't look great when they do a reconstruction of the past events you've had to put up with Paul!

And for Barnsley Scooby - do your comments feel a bit stupid now? Not a detailer in sight for the fcukin' bodge job those cowboys have done to Pauls car.

Good luck anywho, subscribed.

I was wrong and im the first to admit it and hindsight is a wonderfull thing. So in answer do my comments feel stupid ???? No, as i could have easily been right as i was wrong, in the end they have turned out to be **** but nobody knew that

Point taken but you probably had more chance of winning the euro millions that a random carpet fitter being an expert detailer.

My apologies for the abruptness but to suggest they were either a detailer or not wasn't exactly a 50/50 concept was it? More like 100-1000/1 chance. Your posts seemed naive in relation to letting these chaps have a go repairing someone elses car.

Anywho, back on topic.
