JDM Subaru Impreza STi - 56k Miles (2003) - Picture Heavy
I'm not one for having a moan as life is too short. However, last week a SN member contacts me and says he is interested in the car even with the damage if we can come to an agreement on the price. I appreciate that so after some discussions, we agree on a price and then it came down to when to the handover. The guy was coming over from Europe and wanted to come and pick it up last Friday and seeing as I work during the week, I booked a day off as holiday.
A few days before the Friday, we agree the deal and he says 'If I say, I do' and happy to give me a deposit through PP so I thought great as he seemed genuine guy. Then I stop hearing from him and no deposit, but gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he would come through. Anyway, Thursday evening I finally here from him around 7pm and agreed on doing the deal on Friday at 2pm. He said he was very interested so I thought I wont mention the deposit as he was going to be coming in less than 24 hours.
When I wake up in morning, I had a text saying that he would be coming at 5pm and I replied thanking him for letting me know. It gets to 5pm and no show so I thought he may be stuck in rush traffic and thought nothing of it. At 5:45, still no show and no contact from him so I send him a text asking if he is on his way and shortly after he replies saying he is not coming. I ask him if there was a problem, but no reply.
What I find annoying is that, not only that was a day of my holiday wasted (even more annoying as not many days left now coming to the end of the year), but the main thing is that he didn't even have the decency to tell me he is not coming and I had to find out myself.

These kind of experiences make selling a car so difficult. Anyway, good luck to him, but I hope it doesn't happen to others.
Update on the car, it is now in the body shop and will be back to it's best sometime next week (although it will be spoiler less as it can't be fixed)!

i had a similar thing happen to me
arranged to go view a car just outside of glasgow a few weeks ago
sorted it all outthe night before that he would pick me up from the station near to where he lived, got a 3hr train to glasgow, messaged him to say i was there. got to the other staion, again messaged him i was there, no replies, rang him, no answer. over 1hr later of waiting around like a d!ckhead i decide go and sent him a ****ty message about wasting my time and money
really annoys me how ppl can do this.

I feel for you, I can't believe people cant have the decency to at least let you know. I was going to buy a white Type R a couple of years ago, we agreed to meet at a service station about 3 hours drive from me and 1 hour from him which was his idea. I talked to him all during the week and even the night before everything was fine. I told him it was really important that he was on time because I had to get back to work (which I'd moved as late as I could) and if he would be late to let me know. Long story short, ended up me and my dad who drove me up sitting at the service station for around 2 hours waiting. Seller refused to answer his phone or texts, never got a reply by email or phone, I was late back and out of pocket, all he had to do was sent a text and I'd have been miffed but at least I would have known!
Anyway, it looks like a very a nice car, good luck with the sale!
