They say "life's a circus"
Being at the sharp end of the performance tuning industry, let me tell you, is like being a lion tamer with the odd clown thrown into the ring for good measure.
I wouldn't blame anybody who decided to run their own life the way that suits them.
For myself, I'd say I'd be very happy to find Paul on my team trackside, as his incisive brain in a crisis is pure gold.

A good mapper will always be busy in my experience.

His taste in hats is dubious though.

He clearly has a waiting list so why would he add to his work load by posting on threads in here?

Maybe the reason he doesnt come on here anymore is because of witch hunts like this from many people who have never even used his company or know both sides of the story.
Scoobynet is a centre of excellence for these! Scooby clinic, TSL and even API have all run the gauntlet!
Paul chooses not to use S'net as he finds it unesessary in terms of customer aquisition, a perfectly legitimate decision on his part. I'm not sure what use he makes of other marque forums, MLR, GTR register etc but I do know that he occasionally posts on 22B.
Like many sole traders his business is based on word of mouth, reputation, previous custom and, when possible, flexibility. Unfortunately, there is often a fine line to be walked in terms of priorities. By his own admission, his customer care/communication is not always the best in the business but put up with the occasional hiccup and use him for what he's good at. Remember, I do believe there are a couple at least, of the newer mappers who were associated with/employed by Zen not so long ago?

I'll grant you, that trip down under did make its mark on him.

Yes it did Alan. Been to places that are only accessible after days of driving in the outback or by helicopter. That hat has been the long way round Oz!

I only wish I had someone local with such a high level of engineering knowledge, PB's ability is held in such high regard that in an attempt to keep up with the demands of his company, he found his family life suffered.

I myself used to work 100+ hours a week, I was self-employed and loved what I was doing. But the sacrifice was that I ignored my family and friends. One day I turned round and realised I hadn't spoken to anyone about "non-work" for three months ! ! !
Because I hadn't seen them...

I myself need yet another re-map, but the car won't explode if I have to wait a fortnight, in fact I almost relish the thought of gradually increasing the load/revs till it has some decent oil in, then the map gets sorted and off we go.

And, sometimes, I bet you wish you'd stayed there!
Whatever, you've always got a welcome here mate.
