Just wondering though, how does a receiver pick up an output from a receiver? (Watching another of the guy aboves videos, compelling stuff!)

Ha ha, I think he is called Mr Law, how ironic!

I still don't get why you wouldn't want to support the BBC with making the programs and buying a licence, in this world of paid for services having a TV licence is no worse than paying for BB, the telephone or any other service you may use, their is very little these days that is free.

I agree. Would he have done the same if it had been a male police officer the same size as him I wonder? Even if he would, the woman here was clearly posing no threat of breaching any kind of rights he had, so why be a d*ck about it? She looks pretty demoralised by the end of it... not very nice at all.

The time to get defensive is when the police are being ***** with you. Other than that, I don't see the point.

I can see the value in the BBC but I don't agree that we should have to pay a license fee.

When it goes digital, give people the option to buy the bbc live broadcast.

It does seem strange to me sometimes how brain washed some people seem. "It's the law" "oh, ok, I'll stop my car insurance" etc

It's an absolutely stupid law, crazy really. Just give people the choice when it goes digital, if they don't want to pay it they don't get it. I don't want to pay for sky, therefore I don't receive sky, simple.

And LOL at the people spouting the detector van stuff bet the tooth fairy still visits you.

Do you truly believe that if only some of the country paid for the BBC they could still deliver the same quality of service? A service envied by the rest of the world?

You have a choice when it comes to TV, either don't have it, pay a license fee or pay a license fee and pay for Sky/Cable. Those are your choices, take your pick.

That I don't know, but my point was it doesn't justify making it law. I'm sure a lot of people would still buy it after an initial dip in 'sales' but that's their choice isn't it.

So you never, ever watch a BBC program in your household.

Eastenders?

Agreed. And in the above case clearly demonstrated by a willingness to pay Sky whilst resenting paying the BBC.

I have to be honest - your associate is a complete and utter ****, it's just a pity she didn't use pepper spray or a tazer on him off camera.

If I was there he would have ended up eating his video camera or removing from where he obviously stores his brain; does this moron believe he is 'sticking it to the man'? by not paying his TV licence fee.

If only Gandhi had tried such inspired tactics...

my point was with sky you can select what you want , ie different packages. with terestrial tv there is no choice , so therefore if i had the recievers removed from both tv's and had sky block all bbc channels WHY WOULD I NEED A LICENCE as i would be incapable of watching the dross that the bbc produce , i mean eastenders christ its about as real as santa , no swearing , peoples houses unlocked , if fact its so false its laughable. as for top gear , well overpaid trio of donkeys testing cars no one apart from the select few can afford (pointless) last but not least mr johnathon woss Łmillion a year wtf is that all about . imho tv's should be sold with and without a reciever giving people the choice

I know! It wasn't aimed at you, quite the opposite. They can flame me all they want, but I am right and right to point it out. The poor use of English on this forum is a reflection on the state of this country to be quite honest!

Unfortunately, you would have only ended up with hassle as a result. These people thrive on power and the kick they get from putting others down relative to them, and they know what they can get away with. Quite ironic really, to claim to be anti-establishment while jumping at the chance to exercise that kind of power over others for their own gain.

Do pikies and canal boat owners pay for a licence? I have a licence but think its bollox to have ot buy one when Radio 1 and majority of BBC is like a spunk stain on my bed - usless. I like the idea of paying for it like sky..

And I thought the only way they could tell you didn't have a tv licence was by a huge data base with every house on.. the 1 house in every estate (say) flags up...

Sounds fairly straight forward to me - if you don't watch or record broadcast television there is no need to have a licence - just a matter of writing to the TV licence people and letting them know you don't watch broadcast tv.

The fee itself is about 40p a day - not exactly a lot of money.

Very little to do with the cost and very much to do with the value.

quite right

I posted on another thread how this country seems to be populated by people who know the price of everything and the value of nothing

what makes me laugh is the people who object to paying a TV licence are by and large the same fat cvnts who sit it front of it all day

then they object to paying "road tax", council tax etc etc -- in fact the very definition of pikeys -- people who "expect" and "take" but give fvck all back

the world can be divided by people who "do" and people are to fvcking lazy and would rather sit and watch other people "do" on a sh1tty TV

cvnts the lot of them

Excerpt from an article by Alex Deane who is a barrister, a former chief of staff to David Cameron, and, Director of Big Brother Watch.

"The BBC in no way satisfies the test of political neutrality that is necessary if the licence fee is to be justified. I don’t suggest (for the most part) that BBC journalists wake up in the morning saying to themselves ‘hurrah! Another day in which to exercise blinkered prejudice!’ Rather, their bias is subconscious. They may seek to tell the truth, but the truth is inevitably told as they see it – a view taken through the distorting lens of the Corporation’s world view which is, or inevitably becomes, biased.
Consider the perennial example of man-made climate change, advanced as if unquestionably true. Or, as Robin Aitken had it in his recent book Can We Trust the BBC?, the BBC favours women’s and gay rights, high taxation, ethnic minorities, multiculturalism, the UN, the EU and foreign governments (especially left-wing ones), and is against racism, big business, private education and health care, the monarchy and America."
