If I had the reciept from last Friday I'd scan it and show you.
We do not buy processed food or ready meals other than pasta sauces and make pretty much everything from scratch. spend around £80.00 for the four of us excluding take out which is once a week - usually around £20-25.00

Perhaps your missus is pocketing a chunk of the cash ?

Either that or your just not managing your food budget well enough.

Study what your buying, you will find plenty of ways to cut it down if you want too.

I reckon about £75 per week for the two of us, excluding alcohol.
- Tropicana, Cereal, Coke, Diet Coke, Tea, Bottled water adds up to about £20-25 already and we eat pretty clean and have veggie beds. No take-aways.

And we certainly don't survive off Smart Price stuff either, plenty of branded things in there.
Depends what you buy though. For example, you can buy a chicken for £3.50 or £7, both the same size, but one lived in a production house and the other lived in a field. So it might well come down to an ethical choice, or you simply might not be able to afford the more expensive one.

You'll have to ask my butchers about thet one. I buy what he sticks because it's a fair price, tastes great and isn't filled with water. Where it comes from I dunno but it isn't £7 for one chicken...

We buy all our meat from our local butcher, better quality than supermarket stuff and cheaper.

Shame it's not easier to copy and paste reciepts, would make some entertaining reading I reckon.

I got away with £75 quid this week, due to eating other peoples food this weekend!

We cut our food bill dramatically shopping at Aldi and not Tesco. Tesco is a rip off.

Some of the list below is not bought every week. I'd estimate a shop of this size to be well over £100.

Spring Onions
Green Pepper
Tomatoes
Cucumber
Carrots
Pak Choi
Onions
Potatoes
Grapes
Bananas
Lean steak mince
Bacon
Chicken breast
Salmon filets
Prawns
Ham
Soft Cheese
Yoghurts
Petit fromage frais
Milk semi skimmed
Milk full fat
Pasta Sauce
Spagette
Noodles
Ginger/Garlic
Curry sauce
Stir Fry sauce
Thai Rice
Basmati Rice
Soy Sauce
Tinned Tomatoes
Bakes Beans
Tinned spaghetti
Olives
Sauce
Squash
Orange Juice
Crisps
Go ahead bars
Krackers
Oatcakes
Tea/Coffee
Breakfast Cereal
Multiseed Bread
Raisins
Fish Fingers
Frozen peas
Cat food Pouches
Cat food dry
Clothes Washing
Domestic cleaning
Baby Wipes
Nappies
Toilet Paper
Kitchen Roll
Beer/Wine

Those figures are just for food, they don't include washing powder, house cleaning stuff, personal hygiene stuff, etc.

The UK one seems high to me!

^^^^ there very good for you mate

nutrition is best and most favourably balanced in eggs from hens that are allowed protein in there diets(from insects, flies, midges ect), along with being free range.

30 eggs per day split into 3 x 10 egg omlettes, 4 whole, 6 whites per meal - job done,

pluss endless variations to add, veg, meat ect.

job done 210 eggs per week

Have you been for a poo, ever

I cant beleive the Germans spend that much and arent massive.

I reckon we spend £200 a week on shopping for 5 of us plus the Dog, a couple of years back I used to budget £100 a week, those days are long gone.

Dont know how people feed a family of 5 on low wages, run cars, have a mortgage etc, I am sure we could pare it down but to be honest I do things like taking butties to work so not extravagent really, three teenage boys dont help, like bloody locusts, literally if there is a box of decent (sugary) cereal, they eat it all in one morning, partly appetite, partly greed and partly to stop anyone else getting it.
